Scared the shit out of myself on the way to work tonight.
4-5" of snow today and had my truck sideways around a curve in the road.

@LarryDangerfield what were those winter tires you were raving about?
The ones you bought for a truck, but then you never mounted them up, cuz ya know, you trade in a vehicle every year.

 

Goodyear Ultra terrain, great tires but they have probably 30k miles on them. Still a lot of life left but maybe only for spring-fall.

Order online to have installed at your local store. You'd have tax added to that if you're in WA, and you'd have to update the Costco to have them installed at for accurate labor pricing... So, make sure you update that first, but should be pretty close to that!!

 

I run stock AT2s on my '08, and I've always ordered them from Costco... They cycle $100-$150 off sets of 4 between Bridgestone and Michelin, so Bridgestone is on sale now through the 20th, and then I'd assume Michelin will run the next month!

I do think most Costcos stock a fair amount of sizes in Blizzaks for the winter. However, I'd just order them online first anyhow; if they have them in stock they'll notify for an appt within a day or so usually, and if they don't have them they'll let you know when they come in. They've always been good about listing tires as 'unavailable' when they don't have a reasonable estimate on receiving them. I think the most I've ever waited is about 7-10 days.

Yeah, that was wild man. I remember having too push my door open with some force to clear the snow

$1058 out the door for 275/70's. Kept with the same size I'm running now so my chains will still fit.

Honestly, if they'll be dedicated winter tires, stud them and you'll rarely need chains.

 

I thought about that, but I find them beyond obnoxious. Plus don't want @Green Thunder to disown me.

Body hasn’t fallen back yet. Wide awake “an hour early”. Lame.

Thankfully I can use the time. Corolla finally goes in for repairs today. Rental car company won’t insure kids under 18 so my son gets the Tundra and I get an econo shitbox until the end of the month.

 

Check your insurance and see if they cover him in a rental. They very well might.

 

I've got one more night, tonight. Then a run of 3 nights, 11/15-11/17.
