I usually wear a silicone one, decided to swap out and this happens

Buying a new window is eating into my headlight money.

Got my 2007 Crew max Pa. inspected today. No small feat to get an out of state vehicle to pass a Pa. inspection. Now I'm good to go until 11-23. Boo Yea

Finally got around to changing out my 3rd brake light (for the 2nd time). Switched out the cheapo aftermarket LED light with an SS built LED assembly. This should last a long time and will definitely be easier to change from here on out if necessary.

Nothing major but I picked up a very nice Tundra owners manual and associated literature, that you would get with a new 2007 Tundra. Looks super clean, and comes with the nice Toyota case to hold it all.Got it off E-bay. I'm looking forward to having it in my glove box.

    SPC UCA'S in.

Off to the dealer next week for tie rod ends, LCA install and alignment.

It drives so much better without the lift blocks. :)

Removed the little mini mirrors. Heated them up with a heat gun, pried them off with a plastic trim remover, then removed the residue with Goo Gone. Finally, Windex.

    No damage to mirror.

Swapped out my factory reflector fog lights with Lasfit LEDs installed for the Baja Designs Squadron Sports with clear wide/cornering lenses. I haven’t driven around much (at all … just got everything buttoned up for the evening), but I can tell already that they’re brighter and much more focused than the units that came out.

I ended up snipping the connectors on the BDs and soldering up the male side of these for a cleaner install.

HUIQIAODS 9006 9005 HB4 HB3 Waterproof Connector Male and Female Adapter Wire Connectors for Headlights Fog Lights https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089CRCPT7

Kind of bummed that the BD Ford/Toyota mount kit or the lights themselves didn’t come with the appropriate adapter given the price. Still happy with the way it all came together.

    nice.
    Questions:
1-what’s the silver pull knob above the 4x4 knob?

2-what’s the little black push button just past the center console cup holder?

The “center pull knob” is my magnetic phone holder. The other button is for the cup holder and footwell lights

What is it with alternators? Replaced in 2018 at 110,000 totally cooked that one, repair guy was quite impressed with the internal destruction. 'Battery' light came on four miles before I reached the job site on Tuesday morning. Had quite the journey home, more on that later, I think I've fubar'd something else...
Yesterday morning got stuck in and changed out the alternator, four years later than the first change out and an added 121,000 to the clock. Are these known for failing every 100k???

The alternator itself is an easy four bolt out and done job, in the days of my youth it was the sort of thing that could be done in 15 minutes on most vehicles.
However, to get to the blasted thing I had to shift quite a bit of stuff and because I'm a lazy sod I left all fluid carrying pipes untouched. And that list...Airbox, windshield washer reservoir, power steering pump reservoir, oil dipstick tube, passenger front wheel, access cover, and that little bastard power steering pump, as well as releasing various power cables and fluid hoses from their clips.
That then left me with a small hole through which I could just squeeze the old out and the new in, so tight a space it's what an engineer would call an interference fit!
Anyhoo, back on the road again. Ordinarily I'd pull the old one and get a pro to sort it out as they are often a cheap fix but work constraints, etc...I still managed to get in half a day on a site that's a 140 mile round trip from home....:bananadance:

Sent the new stereo back. It was listed as anti-glare, but was false advertising. Thank God Crutchfield has a 60 return policy or I’d be out over $800

My alternator died on Monday. I got new one from the dealer and installed it yesterday.

After the install was done I started it up and with no warning it threw a rod through the side of the block right in the driveway.

Guess how much a used 5.7 with less than 100k miles is right now. (~$6,800)

I changed the oil/filter and checked it for metal debris while I was changing the alternator.

I put 7.4 quarts in according to spec. There was no metal or any other debris in the old oil. And it was running just as smooth as ever when the alternator died.

It looks like the engine failure all happened right there in the driveway.

Ouch. Any knocking before? Seems odd a rod would let go without warning.

Soo after a few weeks I finally had time to do the ECGS bushing and swapped out my
stock coils on 5100’s for Eibach coils. Also did new KYB top hats. I forgot to snap a pic before the wheels went back on. amazing ride much smoother than the stock coils and I attained the actual lift I should’ve gotten. I have to say the new bushing is like night and day and makes a HUGE difference in the front with wobble and noise.

Yes the steering wheel wobbled like I had an unbalanced tire in the front drivers side. I would rotate them often and it was always there but after the bushing it’s all gone. Pretty crazy.
