Yeah, I wasn't knocking anyone, that was a legit question. It's your truck, do as you please. I was wondering if there is a concern I wasn't aware of.

.... technically you're not drilling extra holes, lol...

I also have the exact same issue as you. Warranty claim considered closed, and this thing just doesn't fit. Sent pictures to bak flip and they responded that I use shims and superglue. I promise you... That was their response. Shims and superglue on a $1,200 cover.

Shims they send me are not thick enough to span the gaps, and I would need to use black windshield glue to seal up around the front corners... And I would need to add another piece of 1/2" thick weather stripping on the back of the tailgate to make contact with the cover seal. I considered this (and the black windshield mastic) but I dont want to deal with a piece of rubber weatherstripping on my tailgate every time I sit on it or slide something in or out of the bed.

Just overall sucks because I really like the idea of this cover, but I can tell you from first hand experience, and from @therandomsuit experience and posts that this just isn't designed to fit the new Tundra yet. It leaks badly from all 4 corners of the cover.

@SantanaRealtruck was kind to offer to help, but the only solution I see here is a redesign for the 2022 bed that actually fits and seals.

Sounds stupid, but look for the model number and make sure it's correct. RealTruck sent me one for an F150 that was used.

Sorry you guys are having issues with the BakFlip. I had one issue with Weathertech hard cover, was missing two tabs on the rail to lock down the middle section. Other than that its been great. Doesnt leak, bone dry. It does not flip all the way up against the cab like the MX4, other than that its been pretty perfect. Just thought Id share my long term report with the group for anyone looking to buy or re-buy.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I just checked it out on the weather tech website, read the installation instructions and it looks high quality.

Not sure what my thoughts are on the full flip up option. I am just sour on the Bak Industries product right now, so I am not inclined to try their MX4 and find myself with the same issues...

Full removal seems super easy with the weather tech if I need it all the way open. Thanks again for the suggestion.

Just another FYI, if the non fold up all the way is a deal breaker, check out the link below. Lomax/Agri Covers is the actual manufacturer for the Weathertech. They have an option for to lean on cab

Have you had the chance to see if this cover withstands a car wash? I am looking at the same one for mine. Thanks.

True that. No technical issue that I am aware of, and in my case with the MX4 I will not need to drill anything. Let's how it keeps everything dry. Cheers mate.

Just installed the Rough Country tri-told, seems good for the money and was easy to install

Thanks I will check them out. Do you know who makes the "Toyota Accessories" hard cover? It looks very similar to the weather tech.

Ooof… Bad experience with the Bak Revolver… was thinking “Toyota brand” would fit perfectly, not sure I want to go down this road with Bak again. I’m sure their products fit other trucks great, but it just doesn’t fit the 2022 Tundra.

BAKFlip MX4 Tonneau Cover & Truxedo Elevate FS Rack with T-Slot Runner
I did a BAKFlip M4 tri-fold and Truxedo Elevate combo as I need rack for kayaks and protected bed for stuff when camping, etc. Bought from Realtruck.com, they discounted the combo but their tech support was no help at all. I worked thru issues on my own and it turned out pretty nicely. I had to make a jig to drill more holes identically in each rack support to get a height that would clear my garage door. Also the combo rendered the bed rails unmountable so made some metal extenders and dropped the hardware down so I could mount them a couple inches lower. Still functional so all is well. Haven't had snow on it yet, will post back when we do. I would be fine with no snow this year! Next step, install LED lights in the bed.PXL_20221022_164448623.jpg

Looking forward to your LED light install.

Nice work! Has it been in the rain yet? Is it dry inside the bed? Did you have to glue down the corner seals?
    Thanks again!

We had some heavy rain today. My Rough Country cover does not have the drain lines installed yet; it came with the thicker lines that don't fit through the drain holes, and I have not got to change them out or drill out the holes.
However, even with the lines not installed, there was almost no water in the bed. Very impressed, especially at the price point of the RC which is essentially the same thing as the Bakflip but half the price.

I installed the BAKflip MX4 a couple of weeks ago and it did fit correctly. It was a challenge to combine it with the racks and save my bed rails but with some home made parts I made it work.PXL_20221022_164448623.jpg

Does anyone have any experience with tonneaucovered.com? looks like they are a couple of hundred bucks cheaper than everyone else. how is their service.
Separate question, looking at the Retrax PROXR for my 22 tundra trd pro, anyone with experience with this setup on this ride?
    Thanks in advance

Yes, rained all day yesterday, dry as a bone. no glue. I did add a sealer around the tailgate.

I ordered my Bakflip MX4 from them. Was about $50 less than Real Truck all in delivered. Came in about a week. My truck is not here yet but I did open it up and verify all the right hardware is there.

First post here. Would someone with a 6.5’ bed and diamondback HD please post pictures of fitment? The pictures I have seen on the web look a little discouraging. Thank you.

I’ve got one on my Pro. Still not sure if I like it as much as the roll n lock on my last truck, but it’s similar (see previous post). It does tend to get stuck about halfway through when closing, but I’ll try candle wax as someone mentioned.

Went through a mild rain today and the bed was completely dry. And I haven’t installed the drain tubes.
