I believe this piece is there to deflect the wheel during a frontal crash so that it doesn't end up inside the cab causing injury.

 

Just picked up today. Going into shop tomorrow for new tires and level. Installing Retrax PRO this weekend. So PUMPED!

 

Does the sequoia use that as a body mount maybe?

I see Toyota offers reg tip or TRD. Sparks Toyota has a price difference between the two but, not sure what else is the difference.

Not today but way back in January I had XPEL ppf installed, the half front end kit and custom cut rocker panel coverage. I thought I would share some thoughts about what I like and what I don’t like after 10 months of use.

Likes:

• Super easy to clean.
• Barely visible lines.
• Installer is amazing at touch up work. I’ve never had to wait more than a week to get issues addressed.
• Installer threw in door edge guards and door handle guards which are nice to have.
• Appears to be much higher quality than the factory option 3M ppf.

Dislikes:

• The ppf was still being prototyped when I got it. As a result, I’ve had to go back multiple times to get reliefs cut where the ppf takes too sharp of bends. I hope they’ve made revisions to the pattern since I got mine installed.
• The textured surface of the rocker panels has been a real pain for getting proper ppf adhesion. I’ve had to go back multiple times to get the rocker panel corners touched up.

Overall, I would do it again despite having to go in multiple times for touch-ups. I like the idea of a ceramic coat but I feel better with an actual film between my paint job and the branches and rocks.


As a note, I had to search through a lot of photos to find one where you could actually see the ppf line.

 

Did you do the headlights? If not, I'd recommend you do all the front clear lights! It keeps the lights from yellowing over time! I've done it on my 2 Audi's... and it's great!

Yes, but going into toyota setting and switching it to 'GPS update' for date & time fixed it immediately. There was a separate option below for auto adjust for DST, but it did not trigger for the digital dash for some reason

 

This is great. It does look like you could swap out the 8in screen for the 14in screen, its just a matter of the connectors. Anyone know the connectors in the back of the 8in screen?

Husky finally released mats for the 3rd generation. These are the x-act model.
Way better coverage than the oem all weather.

 

Sweet! Mine are on order, waiting for arrival! I’m told the rear back seat for the crewmax will be a few more weeks. Obviously fronts are ready!

 

Oh man that's exciting, I love these mats. I had them on the old tundra and have been waiting for the release for the '22s. BOLO for a set of OEM all weather mats for sale from me in the near future.

 

I got a complete set. 2nd pic is the back in crewmax. I never even got a shipping notice, ordered Friday and they were on my porch today.

 

It's the first thing I buy for any new vehicle. It's been driving me crazy not having them in the Tundra.
