What color did you order? I ordered them in the fir green color because of their recommendation and it wasn't close. They sent me some TRD red ones to replace them.

I had my first oil change at 5k miles at the dealership. I had them turn off the fake engine noise in the speakers, MUCH quieter when accelerating. Will take getting used to but at least its accurate and not getting your mind thinking your 3rd Gen sounds like it has a 5.7 dual exhaust.

I thought it was all trims, maybe its turned up on Pros? But I remember TFL Truck making a comment saying we hear the fake noise Toyota on one of their videos.

    Lots of DIY stuff
Finally gettin around to posting pics of the tires. Also installed some vent shades from AVS. I was worried about the some power loss due to tire weight but i havent noticed any at all. These tires were only 20lbs each more than the Falkens. Couldnt decide if i should go with the 275/60s in a D rating or the 275/65s in E. The guy at discount tire showed me the weight difference between the 2 and the Es were only 2 lbs per tire heavier so it was a no brainer.

Is the fake noise only the subtle growl or does it also amplify the turbo whistle? Thanks for your help.

It’s just the V8 growl you hear that’s piped in. Without it you hear the real engine turbos and electric

2.5 gen guy here, but I saw this vid documenting the lifting of a 3rd gen. They chopped the end off of a frame piece to accommodate larger tires, and just left it chopped off. Sort of like the BMC on a 2nd and 2.5 gen, but without finishing the job. No cap welded on, nothing. The end doesn't have anything hanging off of it, but as a frame piece, the shape of it would definitely have something to do with the strength of the piece as engineered. If the larger piece it's part of is weight bearing, that could cause frame integrity issues. No?

Not sure that I agree with how he presents his review or perspective... But it does seem like a pointless artifact from manufacturing.

I'm not sure this is 100% comparable to a traditional BMC since there is already metal behind it. It doesn't really need to be capped like a BMC on a 2.5 Gen. I suspect, if that component does anything, it's there as part of the crumple zone. I don't think it's load bearing in anyway, but I can crawl under my truck and take a look later on.

I did notice that they didn't paint over the exposed metal (unless I missed it), which will trigger some rot eventually. Hopefully, they at least rattle can it before too long. I don't know where this guy lives, but let's hope they don't salt the roads. lol
