Until you have the title in hand, you don't own anything. Dealer is full of it, I'd pass for that reason alone.

Hendrick does not charge a dealer markup, but like all dealers there are profit adders that are put on like spray on bed liner. Not sure why I need that with a composite bed.

Carvana has a number of 2022's on their site most with 4x4. They also has a number of late model 21,20,19's available too. Just a thought...

Don't worry that bedliner will just peel off anyway.

i ordered a 2022 when I heard there were coming. Black or Blue 4x4, platinum or Limited CrewMax. Put a $500 deposit down. what was allocated to dealership was a 4x2 Red CrewMax limited. said nope and they refunded me right there. still driving the 2016 :amen:

If he is trying to get max tax benefit it must be a brand new vehicle. Carvana wouldn’t work.

This is false I bought a 22 4x2 platinum in march and paid msrp. with the intent of trading for a 4x4 when it became available. so 7mo old and 17,000 miles later and they gave me 500$ over what I paid for it. he said he would sell it for much over that. BUTTTT this is Texas so maybe that would be the difference. but when I look online at say car guros they are all selling for way over msrp as used trucks and these are the 4x2.

Really? Guess that’s why I have been waiting since May for my 2WD 1794. I truly have turned a few down because I have been specific on what I wanted. Keeping mine until I take a dirt nap and have no use for 4x4

You have the option of not taking it. Unless your in a situation where you absolutely need a 2022+ model Tundra. I don't understand why they just can't contact another person waiting and offer it to them. Eventually they will come across someone who needs a 4x2.

Especially at that price point...2023 Tundras aren't a cheap buy.

My technique is to buy new old shit. Like a Lexus GX. That thing is still has the V8 in it isnt as popular. And the prices aren't unreasonable like on Tundras and Tacos.

I don't think that you can flip a slightly used 4x2 for over MSRP anymore. The market is correcting.

There are 2 4x2s at a dealership nearby that are listed at 3-4k under MSRP. Tell that dealer to get bent and go somewhere else.

Yeah I understand that I may take a little hit. Will have to decide. I'm 64 and planning to keep this until I can't climb up in it anymore (maybe 20 years?) so I want to make sure I'm 100% happy with it.

    Interesting. Where are you located?

Update, a 4x4 is arriving in 35 days and they allocated it to me. The only issue is no power running boards from the factory. Can the dealer install them? I wouldn't see why not but the sales guy said they are all factory installed so far. He is looking into it.

I can assure you the dealer will be more than happy to sell you whatever accessories, including installation (finance person will tell you all about it). If you have the fiscal capability, I would suggest not financing any accessories, and paying out of pocket for them.

Agree. I am not financing the truck, just cutting a check for it and will do the same with accessories.

Dealer confirmed the Power Running boards are a factory installed option only. Guess I will have to wait on Amp Research :annoyed:

Thanks I will ask. Not sure what all is involved with installation. I wonder there is some programming or interface that is making the dealers reluctant to do it?
