    I agree.

I'm in the market, albeit from a business perspective but I wanted to boost it regardless.

As 5.7L tundras get sold, especially as more people jump to the next gen Tundra and Sequoia, the number of boost-eligible 5.7L trucks doesn't change, but the number of people who may want to boost it may increase. And statistically, as a truck ages more people consider forced induction. This is because of warranties expiring and trying to reclaim perceived lost horsepower as a vehicle ages, extra money available due to having paid off a vehicle loan, etc.

And Harrop does represent competition. Magnuson clearly wanted to remain relevant in this market.

The 1900 is a small supercharger, they're probably trying to condense part numbers and just phase out the smaller supercharger so everything is using a 2650 or larger and decrease parts costs. The argument that there aren't a lot of new supercharger sales I think is a bit near sighted. The Tundra is a reliable platform, and there's probably a decent influx of used trucks to the market with the 3rd gens release, so you have a new crop of people getting a truck and looking to modify it.

Is it just me or does that new magnuson have a press on pulley?

Edit: nevermind I think I see at least 2 bolts on there? Not sure.
I get this from the aspect I wanted a powerful and reliable tundra, and personally say to hell with the new TTV6 at the current moment. Just not interested. Figs claims they are not ceasing production of the 1900 for the tundra.

Wonder if they'll change up anything in the kit for additional fueling to put it more on par with the Harrop kit.

I'm going to assume not though.

Does the Harrop do anything for additional fueling? The magnuson came with injectors and a pump.

somebody please correct me if I am wrong because I've been trying to find clarification on this, but I was under the impression that the pump provided with the Harrop stage 1 had a higher capacity for additional fueling than the pump Magnuson provides.

I could very well be wrong though, it hasn't been easy sifting through all the sporadic and somewhat vague info spread out over the internet lol I'd figured I'll need to just call them and ask questions directly at some point.

That’s kind of where they get you. The “stage 1” Harrop as it comes does not have bigger injectors. Just a higher pressure boost referenced FPR and a bigger fuel pump, albeit the pump Harrop provides is way more substantial than the magnuson provided pump (it’s actually good for stage 2 and beyond). To go to a smaller pulley on the Harrop you have to upgrade the injectors which are sold separately. One could argue the injectors and pump provided by magnuson are weak sauce anyway though so then you’re buying both….but magnuson at least provides a proper intake.

I think someone in this thread had said that the maggy-provided pump is only good for about 10% additional fueling

the Magnuson intake is a 4", is it not? Harrop kit stays at 3.5"?

Regardless, I'm going to assume that Magnuson will remain more conservative with their new tvs2650 kit and accompanying tune, particularly due to CARB. So I think it can be assumed that while it would be very nice to see a more robust pump included, I doubt they'll do it.

Yeah I do vaguely remember someone saying that, but I don’t know the exact CC rating of the magnuson provided injectors but I think they’re under 500. Correct on the intake. The stock 3.5” intake can obviously flow the air needed to make the power (as mine currently is), but then you run into too high of air velocity in the tube and the MAF voltage ceiling which means less precise tuning once the 5v is exceeded.

So the optimal off the shelf setup (currently) is a Harrop 2650, with Magnuson injectors, with a Harrop pump, with a Magnuson intake. Sick

    eh...optimum is Harrop kit with stage 2 add-on - 80mm pulley & DW 650's.

smooth 575crank hp. with room to grow.

I've been puzzling over this as well. Thinking out loud.

When they announced the 3100 over a year ago I expected them to leapfrog and for it to be released for the Tundra until I looked at the compressor map (1900 vs 2650). The bigger volume tends to drift up and to the right. 3100 would probably be most efficient at the top end or outside the engine's RPM range; pully changes the slope/PSI.

For the Maggie 2650, the 3 Year warranty is a plus for Maggie but also means upgrades beyond that are unsupported. They also have "OEM" equipment claim to fame. HP #s look the same as the 1900. Their design may also run cooler (better IATs and more efficient screws). Maintenance may be easier too if no removal is required.

I would imagine they come in at cheaper price point undercutting the Harrop that is the only sense I can make of it.

I’m placing my bets as follows on the pricing for the standard non discounted price. The Magnuson 1900 is at $7,250, the Harrop 2650 is at $7,750, I think the Magnuson 2650 will be $7,999 or more. We shall see!

I think they'll drop the price on the 1900 and bring the 2650 below the Harrop. Harrop has an import disadvantage.

    True.

The bigger problem is Magnuson is offering the same HP gains for both which has me scratching my head. Curious to see how they play this.

They claim crank numbers on the 1900, the 2650 they didn't specify so assuming whp similar to Harrop now
