Would mind sharing a photo of your set up. I just had a look at the Diamondback and it looks good. I also want to carry bikes and kayaks.

5B617695-BC39-4CFD-80F9-FC6D92367907.jpg Here is a photo from the other day. I am still working on it. I have to lower the Thule cutting the uprights 6” down. Then I can mount the crossbars for the bike carriers. Kayaks will be going on in a few days for a little camping trip this week.

I have decided on the Rough Country hard cover.
At $699 it does the same job as the similar ones that are almost double the price. I have had it for about 3 weeks now and been through rain and car washes, and it stayed almost completely dry.

To confirm, are you saying you installed your Retrax with a slight angle? Was that a improvisation or per instructions?

The instructions say to cant the two side rails. Off the top of my head, I don't recall exact directions but it's like 1 degree or so. I will say I wasn't too happy at first, but after the cover settled about a week or so, I just get a few drops at the tailgate, no other leaks at all.

I received a new corner cap and bulkhead seal from Bak. After removing the old bulkhead seal and installing a new one ensuring it's all the way towards the rear on the bulkhead I still end up with the same thing. With the front of the cover barely covering the front bulkhead seal the rear tailgate seal doesn't make contact still. I love everything else about this cover but they are definitely not built specifically for the bed dimensions of the Tundra. I'd love to see some actual pics from Bak about what it looks like when they install it. I'm assuming other people who installed this cover never checked or cared about the rear seal so if someone has pics of one installed and properly sealed i'd love to see it. In the end I moved the cover forward more so the bulkhead is properly covered and will live with the fact that the rear tailgate seal is 1/2" away from making contact.

Problem is I really like everything else about the cover and it's the only hard rollup that uses locking side rails instead of velcro.

Looks like you need a Retrax! That's where I landed as tonneau #4. I'm very impressed with it so far. It's not perfect, but it may become my "go to" cover when I get new trucks. I love being able to lock the cover at any open position, use that feature quite a bit.

I just got my Retrax XR delivered yesterday :) Although I don't remember where but I thought I read that there's an updated version that comes with drain hoses small enough to avoid drilling into your bed... Anyone out here read something similar?

Love the Diamondback covers. Planned on getting one but it’s not convenient when having a RTT on it.

I recall being told by ********* that the backflip mx4 comes with the smaller tubes. I don't recall hearing or seeing the se for the Retrax XR.

What did your setup come with?

My XR came with tubes that were ½ inch or a little bigger.

Got a hard tono pro fits well real solid for 519.00 drags slightly when opening tailgate. Imagine over time gate gasket on cover flattens a little. Good price for a solid cover!

I received my MX4 and it does have the smaller tubes. Now I just need my truck to put it on. Maybe two more weeks.

I like the idea of the Retrax but it is virtually double the MX4 and I am not a fan of drilling out the bed to fit the large drain tubes. I know Realtruck is a sponsor site but I got good service and a slightly better price from Tonneaucovered.com Hope I don't get bad boy points from the mods for this.

When I get my retracts, I plan to use some sort of reduction or coupler for the tubes so that I don't need to drill.

Just curious, why are most so adamant against widening the drain holes a little? I didn't think twice about it, now I'm wondering what I didn't think about.

......I even went one step worse, I drilled two ½ inch holes in the wrong place when mounting my Bedslide :annoyed::frusty: now, that kinda aggravated me.

I have the Toyota cover, port installed. It came out great. Several rain storms and car washes and my bed is dry. Very impressed.

Each to their own but I really don't want to drop 70 large on anything then have to drill extra holes in it. Maybe it's just me being an OG.
