Hello so I have a 2015 tundra I got it with a 2.5 spacer lift and it has 295/70r18s its so close to the upper control arms rn and I’m worried if I get a lift with after market upper control arms it will rub. Is there any after marker uppers that would clear these tires better then stock uppers

Likely need to run wheel spacers or different offset rims to remedy. Are you on stock rims?

Wheel offset is your issue my friend. You’re most likely on +60 offset wheels.

Yes I’m on stock rims. Is a 1.25 wheel spacer bad if I go off roading sometimes ? Or should I just get rims ? I was going to order the 3inch old man emu kit and add some 1.25 inch spacers now idk if it will help tho

My stock upper control arms were very close as well with my 295/70/18's. I ran Spidertrax spacers for a few months while I saved up to get different rims with a better offset. +25 offset seems to be the sweet spot. Spacers will be fine, but make sure to go with a good brand like Spidertrax or Bora. I eventually replaced the factory upper control arms as well and went with Camburg.

Yep, downsides with spacer lift = harder ride. You should not have any popping however. Need to make sure all bolts from the install are at correct torque. get under there and look around and see what might be hitting. You did get it aligned after the spacer lift install?

How close? I've never heard of it actually rubbing with that tire size, and if it doesn't rub it's fine. Most aftermarket UCAs have more clearance, but some are worse.

Regarding the harsh ride and popping noise, neither is normal. If the spacer on top of the strut (which it usually is) then it should have a near stock ride. Did you extend the bumpstops? You need to figure out what is fucked up... could be all sorts of things.

After reading about all the crappy and expensive installs and alignments, I'm glad I did mine myself. At least I know who to blame if something goes wrong...

It actually rides okay I guess my friend took me in his stock Tundra today and it rides about the same but the popping happens when hitting a bump wile turning and when I’m backing up and turning at almost full lock nothing is rubbing I’ll try righting up everything today and see If I hit water drain that goes across my road so it don’t get flooded it popps going down and then pops going back up

is the popping coming from the rear? if so did you lift the rear as well? my father in law did a spacer lift to his 2015 and it popped when hitting bumps. turns out the stock rear shocks were fully extended so when it was uncompressed it would sound like popping.

Does it feel like something is loose? Like a clunk? Does it happen on both sides, or only one? Who did the install and why aren't you talking to them?

Somebody familiar with front end work on these needs to take a look. No way to tell anything based on vague descriptions.

@AZTundra Other than the new UCA and +25 offset wheel, what else did you do to fit the 295/70/18's tires??

I'm running the TRD Pro shocks in the front along with Coachbuilder shims (2 per side) and Westcott Designs collar. This nets me almost 3.5" lift in the front. The rear is Coachbuilder +3 shackles. I did end up doing a CMC as well due to some tire rub at full lock after the alignment was completed. Overall been very happy with everything and wouldn't do anything different.

Thanks! I was hoping you didn't have to do the CMC to fit these beasts.

You can easily get away without the CMC. I was rubbing only at full lock in reverse and it was minimal. I was attending Tundras to Sedona and wanted to get the CMC just to be safe and not have any rubbing on trails.

Sounds like something is off, did you get an alighment/ You should have no popping sounds and plenty of folks run stock +60 wheels and 295/70s, it gets tight (about a pinky or finger width) clearance at UCA but works. Check end ensure everything is torqued right, there should be no sounds/pops and get a real alignment by a good shop, not the dealer or box shops as they usually just set the toe and call it done.

Did you install lift? Were components tighted w truck in air or on ground? Something is off with the spacer install or something is loose if you have popping. They probably missed torq on a bolt or two or set torq with truck in the air during install. Check your alignment cams/bolts as wells
