You can always opt in later. Beta pushes out updates much later as they keep tweaking FSD
    I’m on 2022.36.2

I'm a sucker for a dark red. I would've ordered that if it were available!

Not sure that’s my conclusion. Wish he had done the math for driving without a trailer (~20k lbs?) and also with an empty one. That situation is far more common for personal use than it might be for commercial with dispatchers and even with commercial local you have the start and end legs to consider.

If it’s a simple 4x on max range of 600, that’s an insane 2400 miles of range even empty. For that alone a 200k vehicle price is amazing value, especially if the charging rate is possible.

If it’s half that, as the math done with some wind and grade and aux energy use, still something like 1000 miles of range. Truly impressive. And we aren’t even factoring braking regen into any of this math so heavy traffic might see even better numbers?

For horses, we tend to have a highly variable load. Sometimes heavy, many times light, not always something we can plan for in advance. Burning diesel at 5-8 mpg pretty much regardless of load adds significant fixed cost making some trips cash negative when the price of fuel increases and it’s a 1 or 2 horse trip in the middle of a longer haul. Cost of doing business to some degree but an EV semi really shines in these unladen or light scenarios.

I also assume the safety tech will be vastly superior though my reference point is a 1980’s rig so I’d imagine some safety equipment is already in use. But a 360 degree camera situation, as much as it would be despised by real truckers, would have appeal to me as a novice / rookie.

Deceptive marketing is definitely my chief gripe with this company though.

It means it’s new for the model S. (I think) or as long as it has the latest MCu (you do)

the new energy app will be handy.

We always use more "miles" when we travel than we actually travel.

I'm guessing the A/C is the culprit...but it will be nice to see.

question - does Plaid mode uses more electrons than Chill mode? or is it just the accelerator mapping?

chill mode makes it drive like a '98 Camry.

Any mode other than chill mode will use more. On the energy app it’ll tell you what’s lost based on acceleration

Acceleration based loss is good to know.

When I drive, it will be applicable/informative in most situations.
