No matter what I do, this part never sits flush. It's so annoying.

Mine sits the same. Been that way for 7 years. I guess it wasn't worth worrying about.

There are white clips that may need to be removed from the removable kick panel, inserted to the clasps where it mates to, then push the panel back on. Might take a few trials and errors to get it flush or some variation of where the clips sit first.

These are an exercise in patience for certain, but it's possible to get them back in place.

Are you sure you don’t mean to remove them from the body mounts and reinstall them in the panel? That’s what always happens to me. The white clips stay on the body mounts. I remove them and put them back in the panel and just reinstall. Pretty easy.

Yup, from my experience the clip gets stuck on the frames fender side and will need to be removed and seated into the black panel in order to get that panel back in flush.

There are 2 clips on those. When the panel is removed, 99% of the time the clips pop out of the panel and stay in the mounting hole as seen in pic 2. Just pop it out and slide it back into the panel and you will be good to go.

If you're pulling kick plates or door panels, this is a must..
I've yet to pull either off and not have a clip stuck in the hole.

Some spare clips are nice to have as well.

Although the kickplate has a weird angled one on it, I don't know the part number..

I thought that was the side effect of anytime fog light ... you want anytime fog light, you get a semi-flush panel. :monocle:

Good reminder. I had previously read that I have to remove something and stick it somewhere else ... but it's been on my to-do list for the past few years. :D

Yup. Some careful application of electrical tape can help keep these in place while you re seat the clips. This drove me crazy

Every. Single. Time. Pull clips from body, insert in panel, reinstall panel as stated above. Cumbersome but will sit straight again!

First, I need to apologize since I cracked up at your post cause mine has looked identical since I installed the CarLink Remote Start. I've given up trying to fix it. Second, thanks for asking the question so I can give it another go.

Same hear, just detailed the truck yesterday and tried putting the dam panel in place and gave up. Been that way for 3 years now after adding remote start. Try every now and again and get frustrated and say F...it

Am I the only one who can't properly seed this piece?

I properly seeded the same piece twice. That's how I ended up with two kids.

The upper clip needs to be removed from the truck and attached to the panel. The lower one works best in my experience if it stays on the truck and you attach the panel to it while reattaching the panel.
I’ve had mine off so many times I can get it back on fully in my sleep.

I, also, in addition to you had my cobra de-fanged. My urologist said I would notice no difference.

I, Spraynard, can tell you that I notice a difference. If I had a wayback machine my piece would be getting her fangs pulled.

I had the same problem. I pushed the panel in then i replaced the plastic nut on the floor with a real nut and tightned it, so far its still in place.
