Just minor stuff. For example, Undercover bed cover, Tufskinz custom door sill protectors, and TRD air filters.
Probably not a bad idea, but personally, I’m too old to switch now. I’ll stick with the good ole “freedom units”.

I used cruise control on a trip this weekend on my Pro, over 400 miles. Stock tires. I got over 22mpg when going between 60-68. Using cruise control going 70-75, I got about 19.5-20.

Update: 11K miles in and since around 2K haven’t had a tank below 19mpg (stock 4x4 limited 6.5 bed) except when towing or driving in 4wd. Last week made a 800 mile round trip run up California’s Central Valley…flat, no hills. Thought I’d give it a little test as I had some time to spare. Drive up I ran cruise control set at 65mph and got 22.7 mpg on the tank. Drive back I set cruise at 75mpg and got 20.1mpg. Nothing earth shattering, but faster speeds equal less mpg.

I drove about 100 miles yesterday on a full tank. Got just over 21 mpg going 70 to 75 most of the way and about 15 minutes of stop and go traffic. I have almost 900 miles on the ODO.

I think they could have done better too, although at a slightly higher price point. In the old days, I never had a vehicle I couldn’t get 4 or more mpg out of using tuned headers, exhaust, CAI, hot coil/plugs, etc., but we didn’t have all this computer stuff either.

Sounds like they tuned it for most speed limits. Damn, I’ll have to slow down a bit I guess.

If you can go 45 to 65 you get like 25+. I wish I had taken a picture when I drove at 55 exactly for an hour and a half. I was at 26.5

    Pro here.
Stock tires I was getting about 17.5, although I was into the 19’s on several occasions.

Upgraded to 34.5x11.5 wildpeaks over the weekend and did the Westcott 2/1 lift, I haven’t seen about 17.2.

Got 16.1 on the way to work this morning, and I was babying it. 30 minute drive 50/50 hwy and city, driving 60 on the highway.

The 35’s made a bigger difference than I would have thought. I would guess most of it is due to the weight. 68 pounds vs 41. Little bummed but I’ll deal. Not getting much worse than my 17 Tacoma on 33’s.

My onboard mileage is so far off. The last tank the truck said I was getting 16.5mpg but when I hand calculated it I got 12.9mpg (I keep track of every fill up in Fuelly).

I still can’t get anything over about 16mpg with mixed driving either on my completely stock platinum in eco mode driving like an 80 year old grandpa. I don’t know how people are getting such good mileage out of these trucks.

If I drive without any regards to gas mileage. I average around 21.7 for a whole tank. If I am mindful of my mileage I can average around 22.5 on a whole tank. I idle very little that is a gas mileage killer.

If I make short trips and just check mileage on a trip. I get anywhere from 23.5 to around 25 on most trips.

I live in a small midwestern town and about 50 percent of my miles are here in town and the rest are highway driving at 70 mph.I average about 18.2 . I drive in comfort mode and I don’t drive aggressively. The highest mpg that I have seen is about 21.5 on highway driving at 62mph. My truck is a 4x4 1794.

The only thing I can think of is that all of you getting such awful mileage is that your definition of "mixed driving" is off or you do 85 or 90 on the highway. I'm not really a rule breaker and my local highways are 55 and 65. It's hunting season so I have been putting several 60 mile round trips a week onto my truck heading up high on dirt roads to the trail head I go in from, which I think has pulled my mileage under 20 from what would otherwise be around 21. It's impossible for me not to get that mileage.

Maybe your city driving is far more stop and go than you realize? Or maybe you like that twin turbo rush? or maybe you're going too fast on the highway? There's some aspect that you're missing (it may or may not be within your control) that's causing the poor mileage. And being off by almost 4 mpg between Fuelly and the dash makes me think you entered an incorrect digit on that fuel up.

I thought I entered incorrect info for Fully as well. I have tripled checked it and it is correct. I almost always fill up at the same gas station (and even the same pump) as well. Here in Utah our base octane is 85 so I almost always use premium since I fill up at Costco most of the time. So I am generally using above the recommendation for octane (which is supposed to give you better mileage).

During the week I do a lot more stop and go for my travel since I'm going through my neighborhood to get to work and do no highway. But this last tank was about 50/50 city/highway on a 65/70 mph road and the truck read 16.5 mpg (when I actually got 12.9). I promise I am not keeping this thing in boost or hauling ass off the line. I try my best to eek every bit of mpg out of it and I just don't get why I can't get close to what is advertised.

That is interesting. And I’m in Idaho and have the same 85 octane. I use 85 almost exclusively except when I’m in Boise or Twin Falls about once a month and then I do that Costco premium.

I felt pretty sure that a lot of guys were just running their trucks harder than they realized but now I’m starting to wonder. It’d be interesting if a group of 5-10 guys on the forum got together and did a loop together. Same day, same conditions, and hopefully same tires/suspension and see what happened.

250 mile trip to hunting camp. I drove the posted road speeds of mostly 65 MPH with only about 25 miles of 70 MPH. 1200 miles on truck. mileage was 22.1. Very satisfied

K&N air filter. Front windows tint, RC front leveling kit.
Mixed driving for the last 1600 miles I'm getting 17.6 mpg. Freeway only I would see 20-21 mpg. This is for 4×4 platinum

Same truck with OEM Tonneau cover, 160 pound motorcyle ramp in bed, 34” tires and get 16.5 in severe traffic and 19-19.5 steady highway speeds.

How many miles are on your truck? I'm in the same boat as the other guy with 13.3mpg.

I have the same setup as you and am wondering if my mpg will ramp up over time like others have said.

Same here. I am averaging 15.5 with mostly city driving in normal mode. Eco doesn't help at all for me. I actually use cruise control as much as I can in the city just to get that 15.5 as I can not do it on my own.

Yeah that would be interesting. I know I drove hard on my last one, but I have been overly cautious on this one and still get no better than 15.5 for a full tank.

What tires are you running? I want to step up to 275/65r20 and am only hesitant about killing my mileage.
