    Hi everyone,

I'm getting ready to do a drain and fill on my tranny. I have an OBDII link with my phone and the app gives me two different transmission temp readings. Is there one I should use over the other for temp checking the fill level? Also, what are the two temps for? I'm assuming one is the pan and one is the torque converter, right?

    Thanks.

I'm thinking trans1 is the pan and trans2 is the TC.

Patrick @2020Platinum explains it very well in his video. Start at the 30 minute mark for the service check.

Most dealings with your transmission will always be the torque convertor BUT in this case use the pan temp. The level is being set per the temperature of the fluid in the pan therefore use the pan temperature. But just for reference, an idling engine both temperatures will be very close. It's not until your accelerating will you notice the TC jump ahead.
