I was impressed with how well everything fit. Kinda bummed there wasn't a piece for pocket on the passenger side of the dash.

I agree, I wondered why they would not make one for that section.

Love the attention to the details here! It’s important to get it right.

The US isn’t perfect, but still the best damn country on earth thanks to those who serve/d.

First fuel up (91 octane). Averaged 14.9 mpg with 87. Will see if this makes any difference. But at 210 miles I switched stock 18's to 20' with 275/60/20 falken.

    upload_2022-10-21_9-4-41.jpg

Also added EKR seat covers from Amazon. Not bad for the price and a must have with kids and dogs.
    upload_2022-10-21_9-5-23.jpg

Replaced stock muffler with Borla Pro XS yesterday. Deep tone but has some drone at low rpms.

BAK MX4 tonneau to be installed today.

I have to ask because any research I have done says so...but is putting a higher grade fuel into an engine that does not call for it actually worse for it??

From what I have read the engine isn't run at a high enough compression ratio or temp to burn the extra octane which causes build up in the engine.

Anyone with knowledge or expertise please feel free to chime in and enlighten me

I know my friends older titan runs a lot smoother and has better mpg when we will fill it up with 91 vs the 87 he normally runs. My boat also runs better on 91. Just smoother and has a better idle on the yamaha 150. I'm not sure if 91 will hurt the 22 tundra or not. But for now that's what I fill it up with. I guess I'll be the guinea pig and we will find out in a few years if it has any problems or not. I plan to get the jb4 module for the truck later as well.

Do you think that any of that could be a placebo effect? Is there any way to actual quantify it running better or smoother?

Not trying to challenge you or say you are wrong. Just discussing, interested in what people have to say. I may start a thread on this!

Possibly. But my friend didn't know I filled his truck up with 91 until the following week. He was talking about how smooth his truck was running and shifting and then I told him that I filled it with 91.

The boat you'll notice the difference right away. It doesn't struggle to idle and we're out running on the water over 12 hours a day during the summer without ever shutting it off.

The titan is an early 2000's model and my outboard is a 2007. Not sure if it makes a difference on newer motors but it seems to help out our older motors.

I'm looking forward to seeing someone in the real world using these. They still strike me as a great way to destroy the front bumper if used for anything other than a level ground, straight pull.

Ya I agree but after seeing the install video and being a direct bolt on with no cutting or mods to the truck. I figured at $145 bucks it would be better than nothing. I don’t plan on doing any heavy mud bogging. Just in case I need a place to hook to.

It always seems to me that AFE has products you don't really need to use.

I watched the install videos and came away thinking those hot charge pipes didn't look a lot different than stock. I would welcome louder turbos so I'm on the lookout for intake solutions.

Removed the liner in the bottom of the air box and added the TRD filters. You can hear a light turbo spool and light bov sound.

Does the liner need to be removed to accomodate the TRD filters?

What is the purpose of the liner?

I just swapped the filters. I didn’t remove the liner.
