Yes, we all know, no one here is arguing otherwise.

Will surely be easy to flip for a nice profit, congrats and well done. And if not…… 800HP and 400 mile range in Denali trim will be a gorgeous and great truck. Looks so much better than the Lightning.

oh I know - we all know that have been on this thread.
    As an update.
My son-in-law is getting rid of his 2022 F150 limited.
They need more 1st class space as in a large SUV but something happened to make the decision quicker.
The exhaust didn't sound right to him. a noise under the cab. Turns out something hit the exhaust before the cats
(dealers thinks stone/small rock) and put a crack in it. Like a stone on a windshield.

How does something like this happen with a steel exhaust ?

Anyway its not a warranty item and its going to cost alot to fix so he is getting rid of it.

He's a Ford guy but doesn't like the interior of the Expedition, so he is about to get an FBI vehicle - Yukon XL.

I told him that my son's work Sierra's engine has already started "ticking" but he will sell it before warranty is over.

Sequoia is way too small and no Auto 4wd.

Yeah I’ll be honest in the body on frame large suv arena there isn’t a lot. You can either get the problematic GM’s, ugly expedition, or reliable and expensive but fell short sequoia.

Essentially anything plastic or rubber comes from oil. It's not going anywhere in the next 30 years. Multiple articles I have read believe that oil demand will peak around 2050

I was staying in the non luxury class. I thought those were in the Escalade and navigator class.

Nevertheless, the wagoneer inside is amazing but god damn that’s one hideous vehicle

Yeah like the entire interior of every car made in the last million years and many of the components under the car.

All the oil refiners are looking at investing more into LNG and petrochem now. Even if demand for fossil fuels drop, the demand for rubbers and plastics isnt going away.

    Yeah luckily it’s refundable.

so much for big companies taking down the dealers. All that Ford, GM ,etc vs dealers is face saving BS. No manufacturer cares

Actually have a little respect for GM for not sugar coating or trying to hide it this time.

They are laughing all the way to the bank with these prices.

That’s a “Launch Edition” too. She’s gonna be a doozy!

It's a dealer installed option, kinda like paint protection or Scotchgard on the seats.

    I owned a 2017 F150 with the 2nd gen 3.5 Eco 10sp.
If it's the same motor I'd run as fast as you can from the Ford. Mine was in twice for a complete cam phaser and related valve train component rebuild in less than 40000 KM's.
That was with a perfect maintenance record and full synthetic Ford spec oil changes every 6000km's max.
The local mechanics always had a 3.5 in the shop with the entire front end torn off if that tells you anything. Mine had the latest revision on components installed twice. Check put the F150 forum to confirm the issues. That motor is an fing time bomb in my opinion and needs a complete variable cam timing redesign.
I wanted to like the truck and installed Fox suspension, wheels, stereo, you name it.
Once the 5.9 diesel like clatter on 3rd round began I traded the pos in on a Toyota.
The frozen door locks that wouldn't allow the doors to stay latched even after the 2nd service revision was a treat @ 5am.

I'll have to admit the head mechanics did say the 2.7 had far less issues for what it's worth and I have a couple buddies that own and like them.
The Lighting may turn out to be a decent rig although once all the dead batteries begin to pile up we'll have another environmental issue to tackle:facepalm:

    I gotta counterpoint this....

I have worked 16+ years for City of Seattle DOT, all we use is Ford. Any Ford that is painted white, we use them.

Let me preface my critical assessment with the fact I do sometimes consider Ford, but ....

Saying they "don't have issues" is ridiculous. Name a Ford model in the last 10 years and I'll provide a significant list of issues we've had.

Wanna talk diesel? All 6.7 have given us issues with the extremely expensive emissions equipment, especially Gen 1 of the 6.7. I'll admit the rest of the truck is solid, no body or transmission issues.

How about current Gen half tons? Our 2.7tt trucks got sidelined for fuelling issues and those with extended cabs were recalled. The rest of the F-150 trucks have stupid issues like glove boxes that don't stay latched and infotainment systems that crash mid-drive and take several minutes to restart.

The only Fords we ever had that were respectably reliable were the old 4.6 Econoline and newer non turbo Transit Connect. Everything else has been crap

When a Ford goes into the shop, we can't get our work done, and this happens more frequently than we'd like....

I personally have owned a Nissan Titan for 15 years, and still don't think any new Ford is better than the old girl. I do believe that the new F-150 is extremely nice and worth considering (especially since 2016+ Titans are garbage) but I'd way rather own a new Tundra.

Anyways, asserting that fleet Fords are trouble free is something I must counterpoint.

F150 is back in the shop, was sitting in a parking lot and 5 brake system failur warning lights came on, and a chorus of dings and beeps. They haven't even gotten the parts in to fix the last 4 reasons I was in the shop. Luckily I haven't sold the 08 yet, but boy it feels a lot older after a few hundred miles in that Lariat

    what year is it?

I like the ford I tested but damn, all that malfunction on the test drive scared me away and back into the tundra which I have dealers looking for a 23 for me. but Im still reading all kinds of BS with that too about QC problems, gas gauge, wind noise, weather strips, bed rattles, door rattles, etc.

    has me concerned

it seems like you cant find a quality truck anywhere right now

I apologize for taking so long to respond to this question. Expedition wise, we have seen a huge increase over the last couple months in svc visits with the 10 speed with numerous recalls out and coming out. One of which is extremely scary, transmission will either randomly drop gears or think it needs to go into park! (Plantary gear 1 and 4 need to be replaced, no parts available so ford will black box it instead). That’s becoming an issue across the board now, as well as a recall for under hood fires.

power boost wise, we do not see a huge volume of them at either one of my shops. When we do it’s usually from putting itself into a limo mode for hybrid battery reason. This becomes a head scratcher, always escalated to engineering as the outcome seems to be always different. I have done 3 batteries and then things are not cheap!

Sorry I have not read all 89 pages, so this may have been covered already.
I took a new position at work and started driving a 2022 f150 xlt supercab about a month ago (coming from a base model 2015 f250 super duty.)
It has the 5.0 with 10 speed and while the engine is powerful it used 1.5 qts of oil in less than 4000 miles and the trans is constantly hunting for gears. It also has a terrible turning radius and in fact just seems to suck at slow turns. Not sure if you would consider it bump steer or not, but it is like the brakes are being pumped as you turn slow.
The seats are very comfortable, (even after driving 2+ hours) Some of the features are cool but can be glitchy, such as the car play.
We typically retire company vehicles around 300,000 _-/+. I would be surprised to see it last that long, but time will tell.

While my 21 Tundra Limited may not have some of the high tech features, I prefer it over the F150.
