I purchased a 2020 trd pro back in March it is my first Toyota so I wasn’t familiar with all the trims and such, I’ve done a bunch of research since owning the truck and I’ve realized the trd pro is not worth the extra cash all the trucks are basically the same with different levels of electronic options, plus you have to get the Fox shocks rebuilt every 50k miles for strict on road use and that interval drops with continued off road use, if I knew then what I know now I would’ve bought a 4Runner instead lol

You're going to love the truck. I love my 2020 Pro. Add some 285/295 Nitto RGs and you're golden.

You might want to look into some cat shields also.

I’m going to decide on tires this weekend. Thinking I’ll probably do 34” there is a lot of space in the wheel well with the P rated tires!!

Ordering a new set of RB20 running boards today. I had them on my double cab the big step is amazing.

Not sure what cat shields are?

Looks like it had sonar added; I'm pretty sure my 2020 doesn't have the sensors on the front and back like yours. I'm pretty jealous, that was my one regret.

Thinking KO2…might go Nitto. I need something that can perform in the snow. I don’t really drive much though, so I have some flexibility.

Strongly recommend Wildpeaks - but it is personal preference.

I planned on going with KO2s on my 2021 - talked to local shop and they basically said “it’s your money - but we don’t sell many of those” in an effort to dissuade me. Lead me to do my research and noticed 2 overwhelming trends in reviews - 1. A lot of people saying the most recent iteration is no where as good as it was 6-8 years ago on the KO2 and secondly the hydroplaning/wet handling absolutely sucked - even in comparison to other A/T tires which in general aren’t great.

Ridge Grapplers also have a strong following (this is what shop tried to sell me on - and what I would have went with if not for finding a nice set of used WildPeaks here) - but cost wise the WildPeaks are a tad less I believe.

Cooper Disco’s or Toyo AT3s if you care about the weight.

Not if you're handy and can do suspension work/upgrades yourself. I forewent a Pro, got a Limited, and built it better than any stock Pro for significant cost savings. Where I lack a bed stamp, I make up for a massive rack of balls.

I’ve had ko’s, ko2’s, wildpeaks, duratracs and now Cooper rugged treks. Best all around was the Falken, ko2 was ok, rugged treks look the best (haven’t had them in snow yet) and duratracs sucked. My dad bought Baja boss at’s and I wish I copied him.

And 295/70r18 will fit on your pro as it is

A 295 70 r18 mIckey Baja boss will rub the front sway bar on full lock and have ¼” clearance of a stock UCA. It’s tight. That’s the widest (actual) tire of the 295 size class.
    They look amazing though

Just found a whole thread on the 295 70 18. That seems to be the sweet spot for the Pro!

But why overpay by ~$7k so you can make $3k when you sell your suspension (which you will replace with suspension that’s going to cost the same or more; otherwise, you’re downgrading).

If you’re gonna mod your truck anyway, that becomes a pretty expensive bed stamp.

So you want upgrades with the money saved to convert. So they say. Here is the starting price if they come with them from the dealer.

I really wanted the upgraded tech of the 2020 which has already been a noted convenience…even though I keep leaving my keys in the truck!! Plus I got $4k more for my 2018 on the Pro which closed the gap

I run my own business plus have two kids…even swapping these tires is going to be a stretch for my available time!

Yeah I saw that. My point was that you don’t make up the price differential by selling takeoffs that you have to replace with aftermarket.

that 7k is not just for the shocks itself, some of it is from the color match trims, pro leather seat, front grill, pro leds. If he wants some fox dsc, he only need to put another 1k in.
And it’s easier talking to wifey for 1k v 4k
