    2011 Waterford ST-22

    2013 Kona Raijin.

This bike has a little over 5,000 miles on it.
It has always been set up with a rigid fork. I used to ride and race this singlespeed, but it is now set up as a 1x9 with XTR and is basically relegated to winter duty.

Man those are some really beautiful bikes. It's hard not to love Lynskey, but that Waterford is gorgeous IMHO. Pretty funny how far bikes have come. That Cdale 2x is huge and a 7 speed cassette? I don't even have a bike with a 2x anymore, let alone my first MTB with a triple.

On a ferry to Cornado Island in San Diego, CA to ride the Silver Strand. Not exactly an MTB trail, but it was my first ride since June after nursing an injury and wanted to take it easy and breezy. Which is also the reason why I brought the Levo instead of my Stumpjumper. If you look real close, you might also see my Tundra parked over by that tallest building in the background there ;), which is the Hyatt Manchester Grand, one of our favorite places to stay in S.D.

Seriously. I’m pretty happy with my bike setup right now. I wouldn’t mind adding a short travel go-fast bike to the mix like a Spur, Epic Evo or Blur TR, but the Sentinel does everything.

Ha! Exactly. Or the ideal MdO big day bike. The Sentinel is a little smashy.

No, unfortunately. I just moved here in June, and Pismo and Whale Rock are the two places I haven’t ridden yet. But Pismo is definitely on the list. I’ve been checking out all the trails on The Grade lately, and then riding a bunch in Irish/Johnson and Madonna.

Maybe ill see you out one day. I've lived here my whole life and just started getting into the MTB scene LOL.

Ill be on the look out for the bike. Reason i asked is because another person had that same colored sentinel and was talking to them about their opinions on it for the terrain around here.

Edit: Check out poly canyon too

Oh nice! Yeah, keep an eye out. It’s always awesome to meet other people that ride and the trails here are amazing! I’m still having to pinch myself that I can ride from the house without ever getting in the car. I’m always on the tan Sentinel with red Lyrik and red coil, wearing a black/white Poc helmet. Definitely say hi!

Heck yeah! I’d encourage you to err on the side of more travel for around here. 150-160mm seems to be the sweet spot, especially for the chunkier trails. A lot of people at work are on Stumpy Evos.

150-160 will do 99% of everything trail wise in Cali except big big huge drops.

I complete agree. If I lived at the base of Northstar or Mammoth I may consider more, but otherwise that travel range is tough to beat as a one bike solution.

The trail was fun and there are definitely sections that we missed that will challenge us a bit

Yeah but we totally forgot pictures! But to be fair, we started just before sunrise and there was a running even at the park (thankfully not near our biking trails) but all parking was full when we wrapped up and there were just too many folks.

    Well that’s a shame…

The next few Fridays are forecasted to be sunny and high 50’s to low 60’s by me. I am hoping to get in 2 to 4 more rides before my bike goes away for the winter!
