Geez I bet you vertical guys wipe before pooping too!
More house news. The front porch and steps are formed up. They will pour next week. Going with silver gray color and a large ashlar slate stamping. Hoping it looks good all said and done.

Completed it a few years ago because the original railroad tie wall had deteriorated and the deck was pulling away from the house. The planter wall next to the house was a piece of cake after this one….

Anyway my first retaining wall was over 150 feet long and 8 to 12 tiers deep depending on how deep I had to go to hold it in place. That project took most of the summer, digging out the old railroad ties, laying the foundation and placing the block.

Did you use a lot of grid mat?

    Big home improvement yesterday...

I used to have one big box with miscellaneous screws and stuff.
PITA to dig thru, shake it, dig in it, shake it, dig in it, etc..

Finally bought a double-sided organizer to sort some of them out.
Still have another bin of loose screws and nails to sort.

    qvpkjkrf_df41504a02bd82fac903b8ae11b9818d62370c45.jpg 89gc3g1q_7f094dae87abf34c6734130e327f3c6847e7475d.jpg

Can never have enough self-tapping screws.

    l6n1c6pl_b8fe02924f689091a8b048b9c60da63df1613dda.jpg

Bought a wrench organizer on Amazon.
It is certainly easier to find the wrench I need.

I always lose wrenches and then go out and repurchase them. Then I find the one I lost. Then I lose both the one I found and the one I bought. It’s an endless cycle. This is probably the reason I can’t afford outlet covers.

I used landscape fabric on the backside of the block and each piece was glued down with block landscape adhesive in addition to the interlocking back edge. The blocks were placed on top of a limestone base for drainage and the base was a row of cement blocks with rebar driven 4 feet into the ground and the hollow section of the block was filled with concrete to anchor the rebar in place. This was my first attempt at a retaining wall and I guess I don’t know what a grid mat is.

Finally had a free min to start the repair on the bathroom wall. Got most of the rot removed and have just one left to repair.

Got the tv mount on the wall and the pull-up bar ceiling mounted. So wish I had 9 or 10 ft basement ceilings but oh well.

^ya not 100% ideal but was the least invasive for my exterior wall ..only had to drill few small holes where I had to anchor the lower section of the wall.

Got a frame up to hang the climbing rope in our gym. It’s only 13 ft, but better than nothing.
Rings will hang from the other end of the frame at some point

Thanks! The paint was color matched to pre existing trim in the house. I did all the prep work and I had one of my painters spray them for me. All though I know how to spray, I just don’t have the time to do everything myself.

Update on the back yard patio landscaping. ThE major large rock leveling is complete and the stairs are almost done. The rain has come to town, so the air is clear of the fire smoke and the dust will finally end. Once the stairs and adjoining walls are done, the pavers for the path and patio will start.

I also washed down the back upper deck to get a layer of dust off. I used a brush and soap on the deck, chairs, etc. also the lower level too.. upper photo only.

The concrete boys showed up today and started the pour! They will come back this afternoon to stamp it. Went with a dark gray color additive as well. Can’t wait to see how it looks after all said and done.

Trying to figure out if I center this on the whole wall or scoot it to the right and center it using the ductwork instead of the left wall

IMO....center on the wall. the duct piece coming out takes up too little real estate to justify centering off of it.

Personally I'd center it using the duct. I'm guessing some work out equipment will take the left wall up anyways.

Center it by which though? Left Wall or ductwork
    that’s my initial thought

True, there will be a spin bike under that duct in the corner.
