Definitely a recent change. I took a look and it looks like it's only for Crew Max with the short bed. Other combinations (Crew max with 6.5' bed or Double Cab with 6.5' bed for instance) don't have the Z2 option showing yet. I called my dealer and they don't have any more information about how soon other configurations of the Z2 might be available.

Wow! Looking so clean! I also have an SR5 double cab with 6.5' bed so I'm fired up to get one of these XR100's. I'm actually planning on calling tomorrow to get it ordered. Any photos from the back or angles showing the back?
Also, if you don't mind my asking, what size BF goodys and what wheels you are running here? It looks great. I'm guessing they fit in the wells before the Icon? Do you have any photos of it before the Icon?

Nice... that looks good even without the Icon. I was wondering if loading a canopy on the back would make a leveling kit push the front up too high but it seems like it could still at least use a level.
    Thanks again!

Make sure you call different Leer dealers, I found a fluctuation of almost $1000. Spend the time to search out the best price.

Last question, is that black section at the top of your tailgate something you added, part of the XR100 or did it come with your truck?

Thanks. Good call. I'm kind of isolated where I am with one local dealer, but there are dealers a few hours away so i'll definitely give them a call as a drive over the mountains is worth it for $1,000.

Ok I lied, I actually have one more question. Which cameras have been impacted / rendered useless by the canopy?

Leer dealer got it on in one easy pass and its been solid since

The rear view PVM camera no longer works and the bed view shows part of the topper and the rear window for the topper. I have been chatting with Mike Sweers about a relocation kit.

Great looking shell, love the green look. I'm waiting on Snug Top to come out with their GB Sport model, available next year. They have the Rebel model available now. Think the GB Sport is much more modern looking and will go better with the new body line of the 3rd gen.

Just got off the phone with softopper. They are looking for someone with a 22 Tundra in the Colorado area for measurements. She mentioned the volunteer would get a free softopper, so if you are interested give them a call. 1-800-810-7227. She made it sound like this is the only thing holding them up from production.

I ordered A.R.E MX topper in Lunar Rock for my Double cab. I was told mid to end December. $2420 + tax for topper, sliding front window, sliding side windows, carpeted headliner, and locking gate. I can't take my dogs with me for a while, but the other option was Leer 180 for $500+ more, so I decided to wait.

Just got a quote for a LEER 100R from a dealer in Dothan, AL and wanted to share it for informational purposes in case anyone in the southeast is looking or interested:
    • LEER 100R- framed rear door (6.5' Army Green) - ~$2700
    • Windoors on both sides and cab-facing windoor- +$460
    • No carpet headlining
    • Standard manual T-handle lock
    • Thule tracks ONLY- +$300
    • 7-way AUX power harness- +$120
    • Total- $3,552
After $190 for install and taxes total comes to $4,200 installed. I'm going to be calling around to different LEER dealers in the area (SC, GA, AL, FL) and will post an update if I can find a better price. I was expecting to be closer to $3,500 installed (especially considering it is a 100R not a 100XR) but maybe my expectations were unrealistic. I don't know if anyone else in the southeast has found a great price but I'll be sure to update the thread if I do to hopefully save the next guys some time.

If anyone else has purchased a similar model and was happy with their price/experience please let me know so I can narrow down the search.

Mine was $3865 out the door with tax and labor, also had carpet + keyless, but not sure about the power harness. I ended up replacing the thule tracks with Rhino Rack tracks - they appeared to use Thule tracks from a much smaller topper on mine, and just shrugged when I pointed it out to the dealer. Rhino tracks themselves run $150 less than what they quoted you here.

Have not been entirely happy thus far honestly - been dealing with 2 leaking windoors (just replaced and still leaking), rear window latches sometimes don’t catch and close properly, fiberglass bowing in from the interior roof, which I again essentially just got a shrug and a “call us if it breaks and Leer will replace it”. Probably will end up fighting that one a bit harder.

For reference. In southwest Oklahoma my Leer 100 XR was 3200.00 with side Windoors. White, no other options. My local dealer doesn't charge for the install but when given that quote I asked if he could make that the out-the-door price. He agreed to pay the tax which would have been around 300.00 here. I thought it was a little high at first but I guess not. It took 9 weeks to get it here. The dealer predicted possibly up to 14-18 weeks for the wait.

You know, I was just thinking something similar the on Monday. I've never purchased a fiberglass shell new before. The only previous one I had, I purchased used off of Craigslist.

I went to Leer's website and filled out the quote form to have a dealer contact me. Which, let me say...is an immediate major red flag right there. If you don't list your prices on your site or have a MAP price model...that tells me that I have to wheel & deal/haggle on pricing with your dealer. Ugh.

I end up with quotes from 4 different places (2 of which are different locations of the same regional chain) and the pricing is all over the board for essentially the same product. Each dealer tells me a different story about what is and isn't "required" for my fiberglass build. I give each dealer the same use case, but they all insist on different things...many of which they tell are "mandatory" for my build. 2 of the dealers require me to purchase the flip down front window, 1 tells me the only option is to connect my 3rd brake light is to purchase the extra lighting package, and 1 dealer tells me that Windoors aren't an option on the 100XR. It's a mess. I can't tell which are shady business practices and which are just ignorance about the product line. The only thing they all agreed on was that I needed the 100XR.

Needless to say, I was kind of put off by the business model. When I was exploring this purchase, I didn't realize it was going to be like buying a car.

On a side note: I was kind of blown away at the price. Having never bought one new, I didn't really know what to expect. When I saw prices ranging from $3700 up to $4200, I was a little shocked. I couldn't believe fiberglass shells are as expensive as they are. For basically the same price, I can go with the all stainless steel RSI SmartCap that is more secure & modular. :notsure:

I had the same thought when I got the quote at this dealer. I told him for $4200 I might as well buy the RSI. Apparently this specific dealer has a recommended $1600 mark-up on the smartcaps so the out the door price for it was $5700. He said he would work with me on the price after I questioned the $4000MSRP on the smartcap website, but he also assured me it would take 8-12months for delivery. Allegedly they are behind on manufacturing, but I have not confirmed that.

I would love to see a GEN3 Tundra with a smartcap installed for reference, but I haven't found anyone who has posted pictures yet. If I could find a RSI smartcap for roughly the same price as fiberglass I would absolutely consider it...

Do keep an eye on the RSI website? If they have the product on hand, you can conduct the transaction directly through them for MSRP and it's a flat $250 for LTL Freight. I don't have any RSI dealer within 100 miles of me so this the way I'll eventually have to go once they become available. I would go that route once it's in-stock...which is going to be awhile. When I corresponded with RSI awhile back, they said their original target for the 3rd Gen Tundra was end of 2022 but now it's looking like late Q1 of 23.

Not sure if you've seen it, but they showcased a 3rd Gen with a SmartCap at the Keystone BIG Show in May. Here's the video: https://youtu.be/WhmAOeXYr9A?t=82

Good info thanks! I didn't realize you could order directly through them for $250 freight fee. That is probably the lowest price I'll be able to find vs. going through a dealer. I should have clarified that the H&H dealer I was talking to was basing his ~$5700 price and timeline off of the 2014-2021 Tundra Caps, so all of that is subject to change when they officially release the product.

Thanks for sharing the video- fitment looks great and the cap seems to blend better on the GEN3 than previous generations IMO. I'll likely be living back up in Alaska by the time these are actually shipping out, so I'll probably have to go with A.R.E or LEER before then. I expect shipping costs will be outrageous.

I just found out today the Go Fast Campers is making toppers now. Topper - GoFastCampers They have the 2022 Toyota Tundra listed under vehicles supported to making their campers, so I would imagine they would make the toppers for the tundra as well.

They willl definitely be making one for all generations of the Tundra. it is a matter of when. They are prioirtizing other cars right now (ranger, taco and gladiator) and their direction from there will solely be based on demand. Could be next month or could be 6.. I would love one but probably wont ever get one due to 1) the wait / lead time 2) lack of ventilation for dogs. Big reason why i went with Leer was for the windoors

Regarding ventilation, one thing that intrigues me about the RSI design is the positive pressure vent they have on top. I'm not sure my dog will ever ride in the back, but I like it to keep the dust out. The fine desert dust gets inside everything out here. lol.

Do other brands have a similar feature? I've only seen it advertised on SmartCaps.

Guess I am going with ARE and 4 month (vs 4 week) lead time...
