But actually might be 8. The silver cab and the moon colored bed may be different vehicles

    hah hah lol
they jack it up and then they need a 1 foot dropped hitch.
the good thing about that actual dropped hitch....
flip it over to make it high and it lets you back your boat trailer into really shallow water at a raked angle that might be just enough to get your boat out.
works the same as a tilt trailer but more stable.
but if you're not going straight back its difficult.
You will really mess with these new fangled backup trailer assist systems if you use them.
crazy angle changes amplified, with just a little steering wheel movement.

I sold a boat to a buddy and he came down from Raleigh to get it this afternoon. Showed me his new to him 2019 Platinum. I drove it to the ramp to launch the boat and he drove my Tremor. It was....fine. Felt like a 10 year old truck by comparison. Not the point of the thread since it was a 2nd gen.

Oh we also lost power about an hour before dinner tonight, ProPower came in reeeeeal handy. That's such a huge miss for Toyota to exclude that from the Tundra Hybrid.

Yeah - lol Crazy Canadian gas stations eh?
Actually now that you mention it - probably one of the reasons I was sitting in my truck and not in the store with my wife is because I was a little depressed having filled up from a touch under half and did not want to see her bill too.

    Close to 140 Liter tank.
That dollar amount buys almost 3 - Two-fours of real Canadian beer.

doesn't the 2.5 gen Tundra still have the best looking front end even after all these years ?
how did he like your truck?
to be honest my son in laws Limited F150 is real nice but it has street tires and chrome tow hooks.
Its too nice to use as a truck truck. Its like the Platinum Tundra I guess.
I would get a Tremor if I was trading in today, but I am going to put the money somewhere else soon.

Your Tremor looks really good! Both are great looking trucks but yeah, technology wise, the Ford is just better.

If we weren’t saving for our forever house I would buy a Tremor just for fun. Life is too short.

That's not all that unusual. In my experience about the ONLY time I've seen dealerships 'stick to their own' is if the dealership is pretty much in the middle of nowhere...otherwise they shop around like anyone else.

I do have an oddball question. A few years back I owned a '13 F150; the back glass broke 3x. The third time they replaced it (local Ford dealership) I was told "this is the last time...next time you'll have to pay for it."

    Is that legit/allowable?

Welcome! Feel free to elaborate on why you got a Tundra (or why you didn't get an F150)!

Depending on miles, they could have done what is good goodwill funds on the last if it were outside the 3 year 36 warranty. It depends on the manager and honestly the customer. If they are a loyal customer to that dealership, you can make exceptions

It wasn't that. I had a 7 year/125K OEM warranty; it was definitely within that time period. I think all 3 were within like 85K miles.

I am not sure why any wouldn’t? I am not going to give to specific on my dealerships thus my career choice doesn’t matter and I’m only going to help help concerns in this forum as well as gain more knowledge for myself on 22 Tundra’s

Then we may have a couple possible reasons:

The Ford esp (oem extended warranty) level wasn’t originally higher enough to cover glass (glass can be tricky to get covered)
You got yourself one heck of a service manager there that takes care lol of his loyal customers.

Too many claims submitted with various concerns, Ford denied the dealership

I can believe the last part. I had the middle one; I bought it after truck purchase because the first glass incident happened at like 25K. They originally told me "The *defroster* is covered but the glass isn't, and it's mounted to the back glass permanently so sorry." LOL

After I told him "Eh...try this part #" they admitted they had the part # for the *unheated* back glass. LOL

I then purchased an extended warranty from them (OEM) that specifically covered the back glass; they replaced it 2x more (between 36K and 85K) and then told me something like '3 is the maximum replacement.'

Thank you and glad to be here.

I have worked for many manufacturers over the years at various dealerships (you go where the money is when you create a name for yourself) Ford has been very good to me over the years as a company themselves so I have been with them much longer than others.

I have been quite loyal to the Toyota brand due to the reliability over the years and the “never let me down” mentality it gave me.
I have had quite a few fords that I have either purchased or had demo unit.
My raptor demo was a delight ;).
For obvious reasons I’m not going to bash on the brand, I just have seen some things I don’t like over the years Recall wise or overall quality issues as of the last few years.
Besides that simply shut a Toyota door vs say a 150, hollow difference if you will. The Tundra feels more sturdy from a customer point of view.

Sounds about right, in their defense the warranty procedures change so frequently if you don’t stay up in them you end up paying for it on the dealer.

Tundra's are nice family trucks. Tow the boat/toys, haul household junk, comfortable for the family.

Ford's are tanks and better for heavy duty use. I work for a large developer/construction company. We've had every brand of truck over the last 70 years. The ones that have outlasted heavy duty use has always been the Ford's. Our field guys are hauling and towing daily from local to coast to coast. Construction equipment is heavy and they are hauling/towing through unpaved roads/fields. The company has gone through hundred's of trucks over the years. We generally replace our trucks every 150-200k miles (Some of our guys will hit this in 4-5 years since they are driving a lot). The vehicles are all dealer maintained which helps with the reliability. We've had every size of truck (150, 250, 350, diesels, rams etc.). The trucks are employee preference so if an employee wants to drive something other than a Ford we will get them a different truck. But the Ford's can really take a beating and have earned respect for a reason.

If you need a truck for serious work use I'm not sure you can beat a Ford. But if it's just for weekend play I love my Tundra's.

I will 100% second this comment myself as one of my shops are just that, a fleet only facility. In my years for that type of work I am going with 6.7 ford 10 times out of 10.

both baby duties I have have been powerstrokes, 7.3 and 6.7

Don't get me wrong. I love the tundra. I just don't think the toyota will handle the same abuse as the F350's the company uses.

Now you're comparing a halfton to a one ton. Apples to oranges. How about the Tundra vs the F150?
