I joined this thread when I got my first ever Tundra. I'm so glad I am seeing posts by other folks who have had multiples and say this is their favorite one. Sounds like I joined the club on a good model year.

I went to an even last night and saw a Platinum in the parking lot. I noticed the black gloss upper tailgate piece, and assumed it would have the black gloss moustache to match - nope. Chrome. Looked odd.
Anyway... I like your take on the chrome stache on silver. I think I'm in the same camp. I've been debating if I should go with a matching silver...
Do you have any pics of your Plasti Dip process? What did you use? No impact on how the pieces fit back together?

For both the grille logo and the rear bumper pieces I removed them from the truck.

The grille logo is easy. Put a couple fingers through the inside of the logo and there are some tabs on the back. Pull the tabs in towards the center gently and it will pop right out. There are tabs at 2, 6, and 10 o'clock.

For the bumper panels, this video shows how to remove them.

To paint I just used a rattle-can of regular black Plastidip (not the gloss version). I did 3 - 4 light base coats, then 5 - 6 heavy coats. I let them dry a few minutes between each coat.

I went to the Carista web site and they don’t offer the app for 3rd generation Tundra how are other people finding it?

Hello everyone! New member to the forum. I’ve had my third generation Limited tundra with off-road for about nine months. I have gotten rid of all the chrome except for the mustache. I am debating on getting the heritage Grill. I would like to get rid of the chrome mustache at that point. Has anyone had any success with matching vinyl wrap? Has anyone been able to get matching paint? Or has anyone been able to match the black perfectly to the TR the grill?

Id like to see how this turns out. I'm kinda digging the way chrome and silver vibe together. But, I also like the idea of a blackout look. Torn.

Has anyone replaced the black fender flares with matched celestial silver and the moustache?
I'm essentially thinking about all celestial silver except the grill.

I'm waiting on one more silver vinyl to see how it compares. I put a bunch of pictures up off a vinyl that looks good certain ways. I feel in gonna have to paint the flares because I can find any already painted, to wrap.

Hey man. I can’t seem to find your photos. I’m sorry. Curious though. Which samples are you waiting on?

Nice job! Whered you get the lights for the grill? Did mine a little bit ago, but haven't done the marker lights yet. Had the light bar layin around from another project. That painted stash looks awsome! I'm getting some KO2s put on tomorrow.

    Yours looks nice as well.
I got the painted mustache done at sparksparts.com and the marker and bar from e-bay. I had a local body shop remove the platinum grill and re-placed everything with new parts. To be honest, I think I paid way too much on the painted mustache but it appears to be a solid match.

Money well spent. I did the work myself and there was definitely some alcohol involved. It's a pain in the ass for sure.

The painted stache looks great. I'm glad to see you ordered from Sparks as I have been wondering what their painted to match looks like.
How ab ok ut the flares? Will you get those painted too?

I am going to keep the flares black just how they are, from my eyes, it does not diminish the overall look of the vehicle, but the mustache and grill had to be modified. :annoyed: It was aggravating me every time I came out to start up my platinum.

I don’t have any scenic pics with the new tires yet, but slapped on some 35x11.5 Toyo OC AT3’s with the RC 1.75” leveling kit

Super old pictures. I’ve had my truck since December of last year and still enjoy it. Not much done and I’m looking at doing more soon, like tri fold, amber lights and maybe side steps. I prefer no steps so we’ll see. So far it has a 2” leveling kit, wheels and tires, removed all badges and stickers, ceramic tint (windshield soon) and I added blue vinyl to TRD and Tundra on the grille. Kicking around a muffler swap

Nice looking truck. I like the looks of the shorter bed but I wanted the longer bed for hauling stuff/tools if I needed to.
