What do you all think of this deal?

So I've been a long time lurker here because I've been planning on buying a Tundra for almost a year now. The time is getting close and I've started looking. I want a lift kit so I'd prefer to buy a truck with one already installed to save money. I've been looking at this one, what do you all think? Good deal or no? I believe it's the procomp stage 2 lift with coilovers, about 6 inches of lift I believe...thanks in advance for the opinions

not a bad price.. I would try and get them down to about 28 though.

It's not the stage 2 with coilovers....it's the stage one with spacers.
you can see the coilovers are stock when you look at the picture of the procomp crossmember.

 

Good info thanks man! I haven't seen the truck in person so hard to tell. I would like to get one lifted already so I don't have to spend another 10k on lift/wheels/tires but I don't want a cheap lift either...decisions, decisions

 

Wouldn't be 10 K depending on what lift you want.
A good 3/1 will run you about 1500. Include wheels and tires, you're looking at a total of about 3500. Install the lift yourself and that'll save you 500 bucks and gives you a damn nice sense of accomplishment!
Either way, you'll have to shell out some cash for a good lift!

Idk where you live, but this one sounds like a pretty good deal...

With sunroof it has to be a limited or platinum. Doesn't say what type of lift though.

I could not tell you much by the photos and info. Any service history? Any accidents? Car fax is only as good as what has been reported, and many don't get reported. Have the brakes been serviced? pads been replaced? Lots to consider.
Get the vin and maybe try and run it through your local Toyota dealer for TSB's or recalls. The info on the type lift is important, but a mechanically sound truck would be where I would likely start.

I bet it is a beautiful truck. I just don't like how dealers will mislead you with the factory mpg ratings. Any truck lifted with bigger off-road tires will have reduced MPG. I wouldn't let that deter you though. The dependability of a Toyota 4X4 is always a Big Plus. Go for it!

 

I come from a Silverado with 6 inch lift and 35s so I know what I'm getting myself into, I don't want it for mpg. But I would want at least a 6 inch lift and for some nice fuel wheels and tires also i would be getting very close to 10 grand with installation and all....so if i can save some money on a truck already lifted I would love that!

 

I'm in Southern California so that's a no go, sounds nice though. It's tough to find nice lifted tundras here that aren't too old

 

Thats not too bad. Check the underside for scratches and dings. If the bottom is clean, it has not been 4x4ed the crap out of, and if all of the radio stations are not tuned to head banger music go for it.

That is one awesome bumper!!!!!! JTP understands what to look out for. HeadBanger = thrashing and tearing it up!!!!!! Undercarriage is very very likely clean because you can't take big trucks on serious off road trails, thats for Jeeps and 4Runners!!!!!

He was absolutely right. Still holds true today.

 

There are a bunch of rednecks up in Oklahoma that do it all of the time.

 

Heck yea dude, ALL of that stuff. Have that dealer agree to torque all of the bolts on that lift to make sure its all there.

 

Ive checked all of the radio stations in every used care I have ever bought Its saved me a few times.

 

I've never heard of that but it's genius, will definitely add it to the list!! I'm hoping to find some blues and oldies presets, maybe some classic rock

This is a true statement, so many Okies believe that they can 'off-road' their trucks like Jeeps.
I remember when a guy in a F250 with close to 14 inches of lift said he could make it through the same trail that I was on in my 4runner.
Needless to say, he had a hell of a time getting back out...
