It's been amazing. Better than I'd hoped to be honest. I did buy the extended warranty simply because there is a tremendous amount of tech and I was able to get it at cost.

I know. Everybody always has a brother/cousin/neighbors-step-sister-stuck-in-the-dryer who had a horrible Ford experience but they sell a million a year so they can't all be bad. When I needed to step up to a full-size after being in the Tacoma for 7 years I really wanted to like the new Tundra. But then I saw it.

How'd you do that?? Did you have to cut the rack or did you take the bits from a hitch rack? I have a similar setup but I had to put bars on the cover and then the racks on the bars. So you can't open your tonneau cover with them on.

I'll have to have a look at that... I wish I knew about that before I bought two roof rack 1UPs.

Drilling into my brand new $2500 bed cover was pretty nerve wracking, but I'm very happy with how it turned out.

That looks soooooo clean!!! I like the smooth cover too. They only had the diamond plate when I got mine (not that the diamond plate looks bad...)

Nice ride! My buddy has a Ripmo and I've had a number of Ironhorse bikes... All with the DW link. DW link is the shiznit. I knew Dave Weagle from back in the day and dude is a suspension genious.

Thanks bro, your not lying that DW link is sick, that's why I went Ibis over Santa cruz. Rides smoother and climbs a litte better in my opinion.

Oh, and my other bike is finally due to arrive in a couple of weeks. In related news, thieves should be castrated, blinded, flogged and hobbled. Not necessarily in that order.

I already have my road bike (Cervelo Caledonia Ultegra) and am waiting for a mtb (Trek Top Fuel 8 XT - blue this time for fun, last bike was a less-than-1yr-old Trek Fuel EX 8 XT in red-black fade.) My insurance company was not pleased. They took my wife's bike as well. I now have a whole host of ways and means of preventing a repeat now. All of which I had to spend time and money on. See above for what I think of that. Worst is spending yet another summer with no mtb. Eff'n thieves. May they die screaming.

Yeah it was a toss up between the Pivkt and the Ibis . I’ve went IBis and have loved them since. Currently the wife and I are both on Ripmos. I admit the frame and design is dated but still more bine than I have skill. I do like the Transitions clean sharp lines though…..on a side note I rode the OSO the other day. It’s got a lot of torque and a face for radio. But I will say it looks better in person than the pictures.

Hey gang, anyone know of a hitch bike rack that the tailgate won't hit? I have a 2022 Tundra. Had the same problem on my '19 Ram 1500. When I put the tailgate down it hits the rack when the rack is dropped in either position. FYI, I have a Rockmounts splitrail. Great rack, just doesn't work with my truck.

This is my custom cargo bar with front loader setup I made to work with the rail system on my 14 sr5. The rail system in the 3rd gen sits a little lower so I have to slot my mounting brackets to make it work on the new truck.

Not sure about the 22 but on my 21 I use a Thule helium and it doesn't hit the tailgate at all

Buy a hitch extender and weld a nut on the INSIDE of one end where the pin goes through. You can then use a bolt instead of a pin to tighten it so it won’t wiggle. Can drill a hole on the end of the bolt so it can still be locked. May want a confident welder to do it as the nut breaking off could get messy but a lock would prevent it from falling off.
Mine works mint and cost $25, it would drive me nuts not being able to open the tailgate.
Will try to remember to take a pic of mine when i get home but I will likely forget…

    1up usa.
    1. best rack out there.
    2. You can adjust depth.
    3. Only rack that my tailgate doesn’t hit bike tray unless using a drop hitch.

No riding for me this week...had a procedure last Friday to correct AFib issues (successful according to the doctor), but I am planning to attend the 6th Nutmeg Nor'Easter (yup, I've been to them all) on October 21-23 as long as the doc says it's ok to ride.

In 2019 and 2021 it was held on a beautiful farm, and was pretty easy as far as being able to just park your car and bring everything you needed, but that didn't work out for this year, so it will be an actual bike packing (ie carry all your gear) event, the way it was in 2020 because of Covid.

Anyway, shifter issues on the Lynskey will not be resolved in the short term, so I got the Ahearne all set to do what it was designed for...

Awesome replies, thanks guys! I bought an extender, I just didn't like that it made the rack stick that much further out (I didn't think of welding a nut to the inside so it didn't rattle around, could be an option). I think I'll look into a 1up or Thule for now.

So the 1up tray is staggered in height . Bottom tray is below tailgate , second tray will sit below but I have it out slightly just in case there’s flex or jumping in the tailgate. The 1 up usa has a receiver hitch pin and also an anti-rattle bearing that tightens inside to stop any shake or shimmy. I’ll try to remember when I get home to post some pics. I’ll be home Saturday.

    racks I’ve had.
    Thule,
    Yakima
    Kuat
    Northshore vertical
    Rubicon ep vertical.

1up outshined them all. Easy parts replacement and great customer service.

I use the Küat Pivot + my Thule T2 that I’ve had forever. It does stick out farther but the Pivot swings out to the side and you can leave your bikes on the rack and still open your gate.

If I even get a new rack it would be the 1Up but I’d still use the Pivot!
