If you were going to throw 60k into a truck, you'd get a stock 3rd gen, fairly capable 2nd gen, and a 1st gen truggy.

The 1st gen tundra is too big in my opinion. Just like 2nd gen tacos, to get around trails happily

I can’t imagine wheeling a 2nd gen around here. But people do.

I just sold my 1st gen Taco on 1 ton axles and 40s :rofl:Not into the rock crawling thing anymore but still want to be able to do some mild wheeling with a main focus on camping. Also need room to haul 2+ kids and all their stuff hence why I am considering a Tundra.

So true. I had maybe 35k into my Tacoma including the price of the truck but sold it in the end as it was just too much for what I need.

If you need to accommodate growing kids, and fambly camping, I’m gonna double down on 2nd gen, and I personally prefer the DC to the CrewCab… more bed area for gear, and still adequate rear seat for most adults for a couple of hours. We all love my long-travel1st gen AC, but it no longer works for my family of three, now that my son is 15 and nearly 6’. Need that back seat for the powered cooler and bedding, to ensure it stays dry.

I think the bigger thing here is my region doesn’t play well with full size trucks. People do it. But I find it annoying. Even just for camping

I mean, if you're building a crawler, yes. If you still need a usable bed, no haha
