I installed the amp bed step today. Part of it is swapping out the factory bumper support for their included one but the only difference is theirs is cut for step clearance.

I attempted to do the install the “right” way and got the factory bumper support fully unbolted but I couldn’t wiggle it out, no matter how hard I tried. I bolted it all back up and just cut it with an angle grinder and hit the exposed edge with some paint. If I’d had done that from the get-go it would’ve saved me over an hour of ass pain.

Put new tires on the SR yesterday evening. Came out this morning too this. Aired back up, back too Discount tire. Broke both front tires back down, cleaned the rims up (probably should’ve done that yesterday) put em back on and so far they’re holding air.
Right front was flat, left front was down 8 psi. They had me in and out in 15 min so that was a plus. Having too go back, not a plus….

That was my guess as well. Happened to me once, the tire won't leak parked, only leaked once on highway speed

I looked at getting one of those when I got my AMP side steps, I'll probably get one of those now...

That truely is a pain. I had a new windshield put in my truck yesterday. On my way home had a guy pass me, not doing anything wrong just passed me, he must have found a little rock and chipped my new windshield...needless to say I was not happy.

They will work on a 2WD or 4WD the same. Tyler has developed a vertical rear plate add on for 2WD vehicles that is available on his ordering site, the 4WD vertical rear plate add on isn't available yet.

I’m not a short person (6’) and my truck is stock height and I still find climbing in and out of the bed to be a pain. I’m hoping this makes my life easier.

You should have done a search and saved yourself the hassle. https://www.tundras.com/threads/oem-bed-step-install-without-changing-out-the-bracket.11764/

Thanks for the confirmation and the good photos though.

I saw that, but didn’t like the look or “cutting corners” so to speak. That was something I vowed to not do on this truck after doing it so much on my tacoma. But, it ended up being the only feasible way because getting the old bracket out isn’t possible without more dismantling, at least from what I gathered.

According too them, they put in a defective valve stem on the one that went flat, the other one just didn’t do an adequate job cleaning up the rim where the bead meets it…

is there any reason for the yellow tint? I personally like the look but does it offer any benefits?

I think it would have less reflection in the rain/fog/snow and have better visibility/pierce with the yellow tint overlay.

I looked back and kept looking back at my truck this morning before entering work.
I like how it looks now without a fiberglass cap.

Watch those valve stems. I bought some exactly like these on Amazon and they corroded onto the valve stem.
