I joined the forum 2 years ago, but I finally picked up a Tundra after shopping for awhile. It's a 2017 Crewmax Platinum 4wd, 1 owner, with 42k mi. It's the year I wanted, in a color I could tolerate, and while I was after a Limited, the features on the Platinum are pretty damn nice.

I'm definitely going to miss my Tacoma, but the Tundra better meets the needs of the family with where we're at in life. Plus it will be a better tow vehicle for our travel trailer (Escape 19), and my girls LOVE the back seat and the sliding rear window. We're all pretty stoked.

I have a few upgrades/mods in mind to even better suit our needs and to make it our own, but for right now I'm going to enjoy it how it is.

Anyways, TL;DR. Here are some PICS!!!

Color you could tolerate? Why every one knows that white Tundras are FAR superior to non white tundras!

Well, I mean it is the fastest. I just wish they made Army Green in 2017.

Thanks! We bought the Escape used last year. It’s a 2016, which was the last year of the classic body. After ground tent camping for years, the trailer feels completely luxury. 5F34FC5A-06DC-4728-A1F7-21009C36B188.jpg 0654D9FA-175D-4F19-B134-C1FDD92B1E0B.jpg5C510B04-9E33-4DED-B942-6795ED865AA2.jpg8810AAB1-965E-4D31-A73D-4B69830C1BD0.jpg

That's awesome. Like the 19 but really hoping to get the 21 eventually.

100%. The 21s are super nice, especially the 21NE for a family of 4 or the 21C for a couple. We had a 21NE on order but just couldn’t justify the cost and 16mo lead time when this 19 came available locally. We’ve been really happy with the 19, but I can see a 21 in out future especially once the girls get bigger. That was also on our mind when we picked up the Tundra.

Love our platinum. My wife has a Mercedes GLS, but we love taking the Tundra everywhere as the family car. It is comfy and big, with lots of space. I got the Kenwood DMX1057 head unit with wireless apple play, makes so much difference in comfort and technology. You should put that on your list of mods., along with a front camera.

Thanks for the info! I’ll check out the Kenwood and a front camera is definitely on the mod list. I’ve actually been pleasantly surprised by the JBL stereo when playing over Bluetooth from an iPhone. Granted I had very low expectations (primarily from reading this forum), but they’ve been exceeded. I think cleaning up the bass with a sub/amp upgrade is all that’s missing right now.
