My original order was a silver platinum (non-hybrid). I was told by the dealer on Tuesday that the delivery date had been pushed back about a month. On Tuesday afternoon I got another call from the dealer saying that someone had just backed out of a hybrid Limited TRD OR and asked if I wanted to come take a look. On my way over, I was telling myself "I'll just wait." But then I drove the truck and boy, the hybrid torque is no joke. It's a f'ing rocket. I drove away in it a couple hours later! It also has the pano-roof, which was a must for me. First hybrid I've seen in person.

Everything is stock except I threw some 295/60/20s on it and it made a huge difference. I LOVE THIS TRUCK.

Its crazy how your +12 offset pokes the same, if not more than most 0 offset wheels I'm seeing. I'm looking at -12 offset wheels and they almost look identical to yours.

Poke is highly tire dependent as well.

Looks great! These Limited TRD OR's need better tires, the factory tires just don't get it where it needs to be.

I just got the same thing with a 6.5 ft bed in Lunar Rock. Agreed on the hybrid power. Sucker moves!

The Wrangler Territory MTs and ATs (oddly in large sizes they look identical), look like a good option. Aggressive looking tires that are lighter duty, and should get decent mpg. For instance the 315/70r17 which is a 34.4" tire is load range C and only 52lbs: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tire...ngler+Territory+MT_Tire&code=yes&AID=10398365

How have you liked them so far?

Rotational weight isn't a 6-8x effect though. If all the weight was at the outer periphery of the tire it would be 2x... same as twice the weight elsewhere. Can't be higher than that.

OK, after going through all 50 pages and reading tons of great information about tires, how big they are, how much noise they make, aggressive look, etc., along with different wheels, offset strategies, when a tire combo will rub, ways to fix a rub, different lifts from different manufacturers and on and on. Again, great information that I WILL use. However, my#1 criteria is that whatever I do to raise my truck (lift, tires, adjust the AVS), the lift MUST NOT raise the highest point of the trunk greater than 80" (the measurement of concrete floor to the garage door). From a lot of the pictures posted it appears that most now require the truck to sit in the driveway. I DO NOT want that. So, my request is when posting something like "I put this size tire on and raised it x inches using blanky blank kit from xyz company" that you indicate what the height is at your "antennae fin" after all is said and done. It would help me decide what I want to do vs doing it and getting home to discover the truck won't go in the garage. I'm sure that there are those out there which will say "all you have to do is add the new height of the tire + the lift and you'll have your answer". Well, yes that can certainly give you a theorical answer, but that does not always equate to reality. Anyway, if people think of it and can post, great, if not I'll survive. Thanks!

P.S. Went from 11th in line at Toyota of Cedar Park in June to 2nd in line when I inquired on Oct 8th, I'm getting close! Crewcab, 5.5', 4x4, platinum, blueprint

Is there a good way to measure to the fin? I guess maybe a 2x4 or broom stick, a level, a flat surface with a nearby wall, and a friend?

My Tundra is lifted 3" and sits on 37" tires. It still fits in the garage.

My garage is 81" from the floor to the top of the garage door. My Tundra is 79.5" from the floor to the top of the fin antenna.

I don't think that is accurate. The Tundra maybe even shorter than 78". My Tundra is already lifted 3 inches and on 37 inch tires and still fits in my garage with the 81" standard garage door height. My truck is only 79.5" tall even after the mods.

Wescott has a video that stated the truck was I believe 80 or 81 inches to the top of the fin. With the 3/1 lift and 35s.

Shortly after posting my question about the height after modifications, I went to the dealer and checked out a used crewcab, TSS off road, 4x2 to ensure that would fit length wise into my garage and I only had 2" front and rear so that concern has been alleviated. I stopped the truck on the way out and took a tape measure and found 5 1/2" between the fin and garage door. Now I know my opening is 80", so that would mean the truck would only have been 74 1/2" tall. Not sure how Toyota can state 78", for both a 4x2 or 4x4?

Thanks everyone for the information so far, this gives me hope that I'll be able to do something to gain height and still fit in the garage.

@Will816 ........ I think the best way to measure is to pull it up to the point where the fin is closest to the garage door & take that measurement and then measure the opening from floor to garage door and subtract, leaving the overall height of the truck.

@Big Baker ........ I'll go check them out tomorrow. North Austin Toyota had only 2 SR5's on the lot, nothing else and said "no Platinums in the pipe".

I'm debating between those 2. any one has picture of those on a army green tundra?

I'm thinking the Bronze one as I already have black wheel for winter.
