Does anyone with a Pro Comp lift have any pics of the install process or any pics for that matter? I'm trying to see how much I have to take apart to get these on? Did you need an adapter? THX

This is in que to be made

You have to remove the rear of the bars, and the mounts. The bolts for the mounts are what holds the plate in under those mounts. The front is just removal of the 3 gold bolts and a spacer if you are 4x4. You do not need the BDS adapter

Thinking about ordering these and trying to figure what exactly I should get. Anyone who has them have any opinions?

Aluminum worth the extra cost for less payload hit? I'm looking at the thinnest sheets as I don't offroad.

Bare steel ok in Canada or should I spring for powder coated to help with rust prevention?
If I do go for powder coat, black for stealth or red to match my RSB?

Do I actually need security bolts? Are thieves going to take the time to cut the bolts off and remove the plate before cutting out the cats or are they just going to give up and move on to an easier target?

If you tow a lot or tend to have heavier payload, go with Aluminum, though, I just throw steel on it, not gonna really notice that much of a difference to be honest.
For Canada, I would say get powder coated, but you can also do that yourself, then you can do whatever color you would like.
For security bolts, it is up to you, US has it pretty bad so any sort of deter is welcome in our books and I would say it is a 50-50 for you, some even go for the security bolts with special domes, making it that much even harder to get to, is it necessary? I do not think so. But will it give you a piece of mind, yes.

I was just looking at it's actually only $15 more for aluminum so I don't see any reason to go with steel for my use case.

Right, I tow maybe 3-5 times a year, maybe 200 miles round trip each, though, what I tow varies, but up towards 9000lbs at times... (I know.... don't get on my case about it)
But in my case, Houston, TX ain't the safest place ever, so I decided to slap steel on it, and honestly, don't think that affects that much of it.

If you don't off-road (nor do I), and you can take that extra $15, I would say do it....

I lied, it's $15 difference between red powder coated steel and aluminum. $175 between bare steel and aluminum.

Ouch.... yea sorry, I didn't check either.
In that case, do what you are comfortable with, $175 is quite a bit, and I would also say that you need at least front+back to make sense of it.
Front skid is optional, the back vertical plate, don't think @Classy63 has the 4x4 ready yet....

I was concerned about corrosion so I opted for aluminum and powder coating for the most protection.

I would recommend going with aluminum. You can coat with primer on the underside toward the frame and spray the underside that shows with Herculiner spray. That's what I did and I don't have to be concerned about rust.

Or go naked, and then spray your own solution, some like to do that, I have seen people do bed liner spray, I just don't have time for that so I got my steel powder coated.

true, could do that. I've had good results with powder coating on other items so I decided to go that route. If it flakes or something I could always try the bed liner route, but for now I am happy with them.

It appears Toyota doesn't maintain a tight position tolerance between its tie down hooks. Captain Jack Dremel got the job done though. Pity to cut the powder coat. My truck's bolts were about 34" apart on center and the skid was made closer to 33 3/4".

I figure about 3 hours for the cat skid pair a couple weeks ago and another 3 hours today for the engine skid install. Definitely sore again.

Gosh she's getting a little rusty down there.

Hey so I got my truck back today. Put my new shield back on (gave my old one to a buddy that had cats still). This time I used security bolts.

Should I worry about the rear shield. Do you have some in stock I could get? I’m in cypress.
    Thanks
