Hello everyone! So… I’ve had my 1794 Tundra Off-Road for about 3 months now and I love it, but I absolutely REFUSED to start a thread until it was considered visually acceptable.

That being said that demon’s mirror they call chrome is now gone!!! It cost a bunch of $$$ (don’t ask how much because I don’t remember, but definitely a lot ) but my God was it worth it! Westcott Designs and 35’s next up in the next month or two. Hope you like the truck! I know I do!!!

Hard disagree. The pro grill without the wannabe Ford Raptor lights looks more clean, classy & way less busy. If you like chrome, that is your prerogative, but chrome is garish and outdated(in my opinion, of course). I think OP’s truck looks 100x better without the chrome.

That’s left up to opinions which in my opinion it’s my truck so I say what I like and don’t. Your truck is the same for you. The grille however I will agree. But… Those parts aren’t readily available.

I agree with you also that even if they never sell the OEM lights separately I would be just fine. It is a little plain, but I’m loving it the way it is. The lift will completely change the truck’s look. My Tacoma looked completely diff with new wheels and bigger tires. I’m all about super clean and stealthy upgrades. Check out my audio build in my Taco. It was soooooooo clean.

Does the Platinum have the option for the locker? That was my big mechanical thing plus the interior of the 1794 is so unique. I love it. Plus finding a truck was hard enough so since I wanted a 1794 I took of all the chrome crap and get the interior I like better anyway.

I had a little mixture of items for the truck

    Pre-painted OEM mirror caps
Pre-painted OEM door handles ($ ouch!)

    Grille mustache painted
    Bumper caps painted

Window trim OEM glossy black OEM
    Tailgate handle OEM gloss black
Front bumper Tundra thing OEM gloss black

Ripping that massive chrome 1794 badge off: Free!

I did it all myself except for the painting.

*** Get 2 people if you ever do the grille. I got lucky I didn’t F the paint up. It’s super difficult solo. Ask me how I know…

I love the way it looks. Buy the thin super heavy vhf 3m tape and they won’t peel off. I got lucky and found a member on here who was giving their platinum badges away.

Chrome is god awful, I'd take an unfinished grille and maybe add a door ding or two over chrome of any kind. It's 2022, not sure why Toyota added chrome to so many of these trims.

I'm on my way there, just ordered the painted grille surround and mustache pieces. I'm going to try the ebay door handle covers but if they don't work I'll just order the real ones. And then I might try wrapping the window trim first and if that doesn't end up looking good I'll order the black pieces. It looks like Sparks doesn't have a full set in for the trim so figured I'd try to wrap first.

If you want the trim pieces I just ordered from a local dealer with these part numbers.

What was your lead time? My dealer says it might take a while and Sparks' website shows only about half of the matte black part #'s as actually in stock. I didn't want to just wait around indefinitely.

I literally just called my dealer and it was here in like 2 days. I got the glossier black so maybe that maybe why. I believe it was Village Toyota. If I were you… I would do like I did.

I would Google one of the part #’s and then find the cheapest dealership AND make sure they have each part before wasting your time or using a bunch of different dealers if you don’t want to but I suggest doing that. It will work even if it takes a little leg work. It will be worth the trouble. Let me know if you find all the trim pieces!

God damn.... I am so jealous! Looks amazing man. I picked up my 1794 two weeks ago and the chrome is giving me the womps..

My perfect build would've been a magnetic gray Platinum TRD w tow and AVS. Tried to find one for 6 months...

Luckily I've got the tow package so that checks off two items.

Honestly, how painful is it to do the grille swap..? I've watched several videos and it looks like a pain in the A$$. I've got the ability, but am dreading ripping a grille off of a brand new truck...

What technique did you use remove the 1794 badges, heat gun? I did the 4x4 emblem this morning with braided fishing line and it came off no problem.

I used a heat gun and the inner cord of 550 paracord and just kept it away from the paint and zero issues.

The grille is actually not bad. I did it alone (stupid idea LOL). Actually the only real issue was putting it back on without help. If you have help you will be fine. The inner part of the grille takedown is pretty easy but time consuming. I WOULD RECOMMEND masking the sides and edges of your fender flare things! That is the sketchiest part of the re-install. You will be fine!

Probably because they know people like me will go to the ends of the Earth to get rid of it and will buy the parts.

My truck is currently at Village Toyota finishing up my suspension, front bumper and lights. I like the black trim. I will be on a quest to eliminate the chrome once this first stage is complete.

Let me know how the suspension goes! Which did you go with? I was considering the TRD kit but they had stop ordering and selling recently.

    Hopefully yours turns out great!

I went with the Adventure Motors KC kit and added a Pro Comp front sway bar drop. I will be there this week (Wed-Fri). I work for the dealer group that owns the store. Shoot me a DM if you are local and want to swing by and see the suspension.

That sounds like a great set up! I literally just moved from Ocala back to VA last week. Lol I liked it down there especially near Crystal River etc. but the dr. I was working with was not a great guy so I decided to move back up to VA to regroup and get a better fit for me.
