Also snowblowers and generators. Honda power equipment in general is among the best. I've had good luck with Yamaha outboards, but Honda's are a bit quieter.

Can-Am are from a Quebec based company which is enough to make sure I never buy one, but they're also built in Mexico. Honda ATVs are built in South Carolina.

I live on a large lake and I bet I see 99 Yamahas for every 1 Honda outboard. That's not to say they are bad, but when you have probably <1% of the market it's got to be harder to find parts. 2 of my boats have Mercury's but I just picked up a project with a 2 stroke Yammy that's old enough to buy beer. I was going to repower with a new 4 stroke but this thing has really impressed me. Runs like a top and compression is solid. So I may just keep running this for awhile and use that extra $15,000 to buy gas and 2 stroke oil.

Covid provided once in a lifetime investing opportunities - Two times.

When it started and everything tanked - north of the border good names like Canadian Banks with 6% dividends that went to half on stock price so you are getting a 12% dividend.

And now as they look to emerge.... without tanking everything again.
    Invest carefully.

I always figure, like with real estate, time in the market is better than timing the market. I am younger than some though, so time is still on my side.

Big difference between US and Canada.
The US had a house crash.
Canada did not, but wages went up with House prices and things did not get out of whack till Covid hit.
Our Bank of Canada is same as the US Fed and is intent on getting to 2.0% inflation.
But he wont be able to go toe to toe due to our higher Mortgage debt house prices.
Income - Interest Rates - House Prices - Macro - They have to be in sync. Rates are too high for prices here right now.
Prices have come down alot but it costs more to carry a house today due to the rate hikes.
Rates are not coming down so Prices need to go to precovid again. JMO

    re:Boats
I have never met a boat I did not like 8^)
I am a boat biatch. When I had time I would buy older boats and fix them up.
Just sold a 19ft Glastron Carlson my James Bond Boat with a Pro 150 Yamaha 2 stroke
Have a 18 ft Seafox CC with Pro 115 Yamaha
Older procraft bass boat with 115 Yamaha .
16 Ft Lowe with the 50 Honda. My Shark Boat.
I really like 2 stroke Yamahas. IMO - Honda outboards are like Toyota automobiles.
There are faster out of the hole and top speed motors. But Hondas are reliable.

Yeah - but the thing is once you hit 10 Celsius 50 F - if you are doing 30 mph on a boat it is Cold !
Its a lot like the Ozarks here where I am with maybe a 1-2 week difference in seasons.

I used my heated steering wheel this morning, probably a little extra for NC weather anyway. But losing the heated mirrors would be a bummer and kinda seems like a safety issue almost....

Agreed. I used to scoff @ those who 'needed' heated mirrors and backup cameras.

UNTIL I got both my previous truck. Both of those features aren't 'necessary' but are absolutely worth their weight in gold.

The 360 camera on my truck is SUUUPER handy, especially pulling into the garage or anytime I'm hauling the boat.

But the feature I was most surprised about was the cooled/ventilated seats. Man I use those things nonstop. I am getting so soft. But hey my ass isn't sweating I guess.

My friend has an 800,000$ mortgage for a house he bought in Toronto 4 years ago. It is due next year to lock it again for another 5 years. His current mortgage rate is 2.6%.
If it goes up to 8% next year, his monthly payment will be up 3,000$ per month… he lost sleep..

I cannot imagine how many ppl are in a similar boat. Specially those who purchased during Covid FOMO times. Average new mortgage in Toronto is over 1M. Many ppl are in variable rates that already up to 5%…

I spoke to my Toyota sales rep. He said, out of 10 Rav4s they got last week, 3 deals got cancelled…

Are variable rate mortgages common up there? That would make me loose sleep too. My mortgage balance is similar but we are locked at 3.125% for 30 years.

It’s a deal breaker for me for when we visit our Colorado cabin or family in KS.

Also a dealbreaker on the fact my 30k crv has it and my 80k raptor wouldn’t.

looking for 22 raptor now and looking at acquiring another TRD pro

Can you link that article? MY2023 Raptor scheduling has began, and there's been no mention of those options being deleted from builds.

I accidentally found it. I clicked in the Raptor R sub forum instead of the Gen 3 Raptor sub forum.

no one has a window sticker yet as first scheduled production week is the 17th. I think speculation is the first window sticker comes out this weekend so we can see

That's my thinking. I ordered all the parts for a full service, including headgaskets and thermostats. Going to pull the heads and check how clean the water jackets are. I like tinkering so I think I can get a couple years out of it. I did have to buy some ear protection for the baby though.

There are a number of people in the GTA buying properties right now because they pre-qualified in June before the big rate increases.
With the recent in some cases 15% - 20% drop in prices its appealing and why not.
But come later October / November ...watch out. Everyone looking need to re-qualify at 7 + per cent.
This graph tells the story very clearly. Something has to give. It won't be income or rate decreases.
    I had a mortgage in 1988. Houses were $200k and mortgages were 15% +

@Bannerman - going by memory on the stats 50% of new mortgages were variable since the Pandemic.

360 camera is amazing. I have a 6.5 bed supercrew. The extra foot adds a surprising level of difficulty to u turns but I can now maneuver this barge through a tight lot or into any downtown parking spot where it’ll fit about as easily as a mini cooper. I remember having brief wheel time in a BMW 7 series about 10 years ago with this and thinking “Holy s@&t this will be incredible if it ever goes mainstream.” I was a bit intimidated taking a 6.5 foot bed truck but this has made it completely livable.

    Whaaaattt?

    No heated mirror? Seriously?

I recall Ford also removed the cool little LED numerical temp display from inside the knobs on the F-150 last model year....I thought that was a cool touch....
