Toyota Pre paid maintenance

    True. I just don't want to play games with them if I don't have to. As for "being patient and understanding", we tried a couple times and it kept happening. We aren't going to let them walk all over us and give us run around on parts, dates, times and misbook us. We had them call us, telling us to book our car in as they can't hold the part any longer. We called and were told "we don't have that part yet". Then we would bring it in and they would tell us "we can't work on it today". Then we would try again and be told "did they tell you it's a 2 day job and we have to outsource painting the part". Our dealers are complete monkeys and I would rather not set foot in their dealerships again. If I have to bring it back for Factory Recalls, I will. If there was another option, I would take it.

    My mechanic, who I trust, can get OEM parts needed for general maintenance and repairs.

    I'm not saying all Dealerships are terrible. But it's a fact, first hand, the two we deal with are: Crown Toyota (Winnipeg) and Birchwood Toyota (Winnipeg).

    The above is not the only incident. There are many others I have experienced first hand.

    Glad you had a good experience! The worst is when someone comes in yelling and completely rude to our service advisors or service manager about their vehicle having an issue. They didnt build it but they can get it fixed for you so where is it advantageous for you to take your frustration out on them when they've never driven your vehicle to cause any issue either?

    That is extremely frustrating for sure. Time is our most valuable commodity so it needs to be acknowledge when dealing with others. Sorry to hear you had so much trouble and I cant blame you for not wanting to step foot back in that dealership.

    Super unfortunate that happened to you. I'm not trying to side one way or the other just trying to shed some light on what happens behind the scenes. I am an aircraft mechanic and these "problems' happen in the aviation industry too. You can tell the customer that you'll have their plane ready or try and meet deadlines but you cant control the people who are scheduled to work who come in late, call out sick, quit, or mess something up on accident because they are new. Shit happens and unfortunately right now it is extremely hard to find good reliable people who know what they are doing. Hopeful that your luck turns around and things start working out for you!

    Call back now and cancel it...they cant refuse to let you cancel it. If you financed it the pro-rated amt will go back to your balance, if you paid cash they will send you a check back for it.

    They can't force you. They may have pressured you, but they can't force you to buy it.

    I'm in Canada and was not forced to purchase any maintenance agreements.

    1. toyo guard plat does not exist for regular toyota usa regions
    2. this also applies to the connectivity kit
    3. tss and xp trims also is not available for regular toyota usa regions (funny part of the TSS package is that it confuses people since it the same abbreviation as Toyota Safety Sense (TSS)


    good example is below. all the stuff on the far right is specific to SET and/or GST and can not be found in the other toyota usa regions.

    the only legit toyota accessories are 2 character items like the R7, but the upcharge by SET is about $100 more than toyota usa pricing. all SET package codes are 5 char codes.

    you can somewhat compare a SET window sticker to my toyota usa regional pick sheet on my platinum.
