Good evening everyone! I’ve been searching for a few hours and I can’t find an answer so I figured it was a good time to finally register (after browsing for months).

So I installed my Boost tow mirrors and I would like to wire a separate switch to turn the reverse lights on. I have an Auxbeam 8 gang switch panel with the fuse box in the engine bay.

My question is: the reverse lights only have one white wire. So I ran that through the firewall to the Auxbeam fuse box (separate from the OEM box, wired directly to battery) and connected it to one of the positive terminals. Do I need to pull a ground wire from somewhere else on the mirror to get the lights to function on the switch or what?

I feel dumb for asking but I don’t get why there is only one wire?

    thanks in advance!

The mirror wiring from the factory has a common ground for many of the different functions inside the mirror (such as the motor controls and the turn signal lights). So the reverse light is simply using that common ground and the single wire is the switched power to feed them.

I read your thread before I posted but you’re at a much higher level than I am haha!

so I connected the white wire to a 5 amp spot in the fuse box but i was unable to get the lights to turn on with the switch. The switch panel definitely works. My ditch lights are connected to it and function properly. They have a positive and negative going to the fuse box though.

Did the fuse pop? You may need a bigger fuse as the amp draw on those lights may be slightly larger (7?)

It didn’t. I can try connecting to a different terminal but the lights came with a 3a fuse so I was trying to stick with the closest rated fuse.

We’ll I’m an idiot. The terminals are reversed from one side to the other (2 banks) and I mirrored the wiring on the other side. Aka…I put the positive in the negative. Yay!

Those lights are under 3A because Boost supplies only a 3A fuse for them.
Derp - just saw OP with same info.

sweet. not super familiar with the Auxbeam controller, but that’s sort of what I was wondering

We’re all learning here…you’re allowed to ask if I’m an idiot :D

so it’s 8 switches and therefore 8 fuses

    N/P N/P N/P N/P
    P/N P/N P/N P/N

    but they aren’t labeled.
