    Lift or no lift?

I'm getting analysis paralysis when it comes to considering aftermarket wheels. I'm hung up on whether or not a lift is needed and at what size....

Got my new 2022 TRD Pro, color is Lunar Rock. Traded in my 2021 Ram 1500 Laramie. Overall I really like it so far. Wanted to share my thoughts in comparison to what I previously drove.

Pro's compared to Ram so far
    - Better acceleration
    - 10 speed shifts much more smoothly, better timing
    - more towing capacity/payload
    - better gas mileage (about 1.5 mpg better)

    Cons
    - back seat is much smaller
    - less visibilty out of front window
    - no back seat storage because of battery
    - feels/seems like I am sitting lower

Good looking truck, aside from the seats ours are the same. The backseat is smaller than past Tundras for sure. Front window feels like a Wrangler sometimes. But as for sitting lower, unless the Ram was lifted I dont see that. I hope you enjoy it. And it looks like you have the same bug problem Ive had, driving at night turns into bug massacre on the front

They look the same as the standard Limited wheels, but all black. Is that the case?

You know I had to check - but you are right. I think it is mostly because seems like 85%+ of Limiteds have an off road package with different wheels. And the silver/chrome/machine steel look on the end bits really makes them look different. But I really do like the all black ones - they look great. Still can't decide if I like the wheels on my Platinum. I plan on the TRD lift kit eventually, and kind of prefer a stock+ look. But I might need to change the wheels as well... we'll see

I'm definitely enjoying it so far. As for the bugs, I'm in Texas and it's always gonna be an issue, hahaha.

Yah it’s pretty ridiculous up here in western Canada to try and order a set of non typical sized tires. I was just informed today it should only be about 4-6 weeks now so looking forward to that.

Nice whip. I don't get how some of you can order a TRD Pro and get it in a few months. I put a deposit down in January for ANY trim TRD OR, CrewMax, Lunar Rock or Army Green. That's specific but broad at the same time. SR5, Limited or 1794 trims all get me there. I didn't get it until 2 weeks ago.

Was your truck not included within the recent recall on the hybrids? My Pro has been sitting at the train yard since 9/20.

You mentioned any trim....it seems like the dealer has a large list of preorders they are fulfilling before yours?
Maybe need to try another dealer?
I worked with a dealer that happened to find one in transit and I put a deposit down and got it in 4 days.

We are waiting to hear what the recall is. It hasn’t been made public quite yet. All we know is hybrids seem to be on QC hold at the rail yards.

Picked up my 22' 1794 CM 6.5 bed in NC on my way out of Florida before the hurricane. So far I've only added the OEM tonneau cover and the manual bedstep was left in the bed for me to install. Had the whole family in tow with me and we put 700 miles on the odometer heading home to NY over the next 10 Hrs. 20220929_124344.jpg

I end up picking the vehicle and has never looked at the color so much until in recent times when all these creative colors started showing up. My last Taco was gray but TUN is dark blueprint. looks nice as i fall in love with it.

Everything I wanted made this truck an absolute FN Unicorn. I wanted: power running boards/ bedstep, tow mirrors, and the off road package. I know now that Toyota doesn't put the power running boards on with the ORP. I got the color, trim, cab, and bed I wanted. Already ordered the RB20s. Upset that I couldn't order it the way I wanted, but I got this one close enough in 54 days of placing my deposit. Not complaining one bit. I love it so far.

Reason I ask is I have the same truck with the advanced/avs package and it came with power running boards and rear step. I didn’t see the or sticker on yours so I assumed it was the avs package and should have come with all the above

I wish I had all of that. Your truck sounds awesome. Every dealer I spoke with, looked at me as if I was dreaming. They even told me it could possibly take up to a year to get. I jumped on this one as soon as I knew about it.

My local dealer didn’t even know the 1794 came in army green I got extremely lucky found a dealer 8 hours north of me who had my truck coming in I snatched it up… still Always amazes me how little dealerships/salesmen know about their products.

I finally got it two weeks ago, it just took 9 months. It’s one of the higher volume dealers in Idaho but my salesman said their list of deposits for the Pro is so long it makes him think some of the guys on it will be looking at possibly a 2024 model.

He texted me twice a month when they got their allocations, a few times offered alternatives without TRD OR, but didn’t find a match for me until June 3rd, then it took until mid-September to make it to the dealer. No quality holds either.

Mine sits at the port since 8/30 due QC hold (recall). My dealer told me that it looks like a 49 day hold… so have to wait for another 3-4 weeks…

BTW: Recalls can be looked up by VIN number. The information for mine is:
Safety (Noncompliance) Recall 22TA11 (Remedy Notice) - Certain 2022 Model Year Tundra - Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) May Not Engage or Disengage Properly
