    Alot of them
Toyota doesn't make their own. They purchase them from companies and mark them up. They also charge outrageous prices for installation.

    This

It took my pre driving age son, 30min to install our RCI skid and covers, while I watched. He got a large Slurpee for his help.

He likes modding and working on the truck as he will be driving it in a few months.

The CBI full skid plates cover them just as well as the cat shield with a bonus of protection of the transfer case.

Toyota was very clear to me that if something fails due to anything related to the theft shield, warranty would not cover the failure. Like a lift kit for example, if the dealership installs the shield and a related failure occurs they will warranty the failure. End of the day, they have bigger and better lawyers than I do. :)

Are you going to let them hold you hostage over a warranty? Plus they have to "Prove" that that part cause a failure. I highly, highly doubt a non TRD branded cat guard/skid plate will cause any unforeseen damage. Lastly, they only say this because like any other greedy bastard they want your money. Also they want to overcharge you something they know full well any monkey with a socket wrench can install.

Ultimately its your truck do to it as you see fit.

I hear ya, and while I agree with you, I have gotten to the age where I pick my battles carefully and as I said, they have bigger and better (and more) attorneys than I do. It is one of those battles that I would not stand a chance of winning.

If the trans overheats they could argue that the shield trapped too much heat in the area. Possibly. Its the only potential argument I could see coming out of it.

Is catalityc converter close to the transmission where it may "trap" heat??
