Luckily we don't heat with electric, or cook with natural gas, we just have regular electric needs which is still very pricey. Those here who have to rely on it for heating and cooking are royally screwed. Winter is coming.

Been a crazy ass shit week. My local crew came together yesterday to help a couple friends that got hit really hard by the hurricane. It’s sad to see the destruction they are faced with but they will rebuild and move on. 33476ECF-FB51-43E7-AA26-7AA8CC70AACB.jpg2643F8DE-B3E5-4D93-82D5-46236FB017E3.jpg90FB543C-BA54-47FA-9111-308011951FBC.jpg854431AD-A21D-46B3-AF05-87866FB4FD73.jpg005814CE-6D91-4B9E-8B2E-4FD8F9A32F49.jpg94B9C0D8-304B-4DE4-A026-1E2235AF0B86.jpg

Seeing all this destruction is always upsetting.

I lost my home during hurricane sandy and I’ll tell you what it blows having to rebuild and move on.

Hopefully all the local communities are pulling together to get shit done for others.

It's hard going through them. But seeing people come together for each other is always hopeful for the human race.
Last night on a local news, our small town I live in was on the news for rounding up stuff to bring to FL. Just people with trailers n trucks it looked like. When LA got hit, we had TX peeps come help and same the other way around. Of course you get your scum bags that try to take advantage, but lots of helpful people that are losing out on work and lots of money to try to help others.

Saw it from a distance - was on the Florida/Alabama coast and the outer bands were visible. I have a couple of guys on my team who live near St. Petersburg, and they were on edge about it. Everyone there is fine, but I know there are millions who are not.

    I hope you fared well.

Afternoon all. We are “processing “. Insurance folks are taking care of us and we are blessed with Great Friends sharing their home with us. Tundra did well getting through the “Riva Mud “ and will be my work horse once gas stations re-open shuttling what we can salvage into storage. Thank you all for the thoughts & prayers. Quick note on “Mafia” strong. My master bedroom furniture was floating around BUT my TM hat stayed strong and dry as it wandered around on our bureau :hattip:I will put that into perspective. 3-4’ water height inside the house during surge.

Hang in there FL peeps. @Fotnot can attest that we are just a year out of our last one, Ida, and are for the most part back up and running and rebuilt everywhere. Nothing we gulf coast folks havent been through before. You know the drill. Y’all will be back up in no time.

A lot of my customers dealt and are still dealing with homeowners insurance issues and those types of unfortunate corporate shenanigans. I still have a staggering amount of accounts receivables outstanding that insurance has not paid my customers on for jobs we did. Its a racket. A lot of insurance companies went ahead and folded or pulled out of LA completely. It has made for an interesting time for most people trying to secure new policies from very few options.

Get in with your insurance fast and stay on them. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Dont let them drag you around. Know your policy and know your state statutes on the time they have allotted to settle and pay your claim. Involve a Public Adjuster/ attorney team if necessary. They take a cut of course but Ive never seen them not get you way more than insurance was going to give you to start with. They can more than pay for themselves.

Good luck guys. Wish I was closer to help out but we are maxed out here on work already. If you have any insurance claim or roofing questions feel free to reach out. Im happy to look over any estimates you get as well to ensure your selected contractors are doing things correctly and fairly and up to IRC and FL code, and spec’ing good products and systems for your roof. It doesn’t cost a roofer much more to do things the right way, but some will cut corners to save a nickel.

I'll say....we got a direct hit from Laura and Delta 6 weeks apart (both 140 mph and stronger). Fema is not something to bank on...at all. We went through our insurance and sent EVERYTHING to them. We have friend that just moved into their home A MONTH AGO! It can be slow. Most of it is because of insurance dragging. But stay vigilant and help others when possible. If we can go through cootie's peak time with shut downs and 2 hurricanes back to back, yall can do it. It's not easy, but it's possible.
