Rear Seat Anchors Rusting (crewmax)

I just noticed the seat anchors are rusting on my crewmax rear seats. They are painted black, but rust is already coming through. Truck is 2015 with 16k miles. Would this be covered under warranty? Any one with this issue?

 

Depends on what coverage you got, call dealer and see since it is still new practically.

 

I think I remember hearing something similar happening to somebody else and they found the back window leaking. Don't remember the outcome.

 

I saw this on a truck I looked at but didn't buy. It was a TRD Crewmax with only like 5k miles on it and was about 2yrs old. I don't remember any other details other than that. That was one of the reason we didn't buy it.

 

thanks yall. i'm going to add it to my list of items to address at my 20k maintenance interval (others include: loose entune touch screen, driver window regulator needs adjusting, and a few rattles).

 

I see this on my 2014 crew as well. Did you ever bring it up to dealer?

 

U leave windows cracked? Or drive w em down also i see your profile says u live in Houston any beach drives? Humidity n sea breeze salt air bought used '14 CM they were like new soon as windows cracked cause i have window vents n drove w windows down i noticed it im H-town myself

 

Nope never brought it up. I'm coming up on 36k so hoping to get it in to dealer for a few minor things before warranty is up. This is on the list

 

Ther few members on here from H-Town ive been wanting to do a meet greet beer n wings kinda thing i dont do Facebook n ther is a club or group i believe on FB

 

we should...so many tundras round here. i swear they outnumber chevys now

 

My rear seat anchors are rusted all to hell too. 2014 crew max. Window doesn't leak. Bought truck with 10k miles a year ago and they were already rusted and haven't gotten worse. Might bring this up since I have the platinum warranty but it's really not a big deal.

 

But my Tacoma never rusted in 200k miles. I love this tundra, but I swear I'm learning more and more... The Tacoma was the best built truck I've ever owned

 

Meant to get some today, but forgot. I have a buddy that recently purchased a 2014 limited crew max and I asked him if his seat anchors were rusty and he said no I don't think so. We raised his seat and sure enough his are rusted too.

 

My 2014 has some rusting too, don't know why....

 

Dealer is going to replace these seat anchors under warranty. They are on back order though...dealer said they've been replacing a lot of these. Mine should arrive in 2 weeks.
