Most people regear and tune their Tacomas for a lot of those things notes. And or just leave the ECT on all the time

nice little read though. Still keeping mine

I guess "most" depends on the groups you hang with but hardly any Taco owners I know ever bothered to regear, including myself when I owned one. If I ever get another I definitely will though.

First, the author needs a new authority on payload. A full tank of fuel is already added in to the payload rating.

Next, the best solution for most is not regearing; it's not increasing the tire size. You are creating a problem that you then have to solve. The standard tire size is sufficient for the driving and any offroading of 95% Tacoma owners. If you are in that 5% then by all means regear. Just don't complain about your MPG's afterward.

For most of our readers, the best Toyota Tacoma is actually going to be a Toyota Tundra.

Well, they know their readers better than me. Their subscribers must not off-road or maybe they don't off road in places with tight trails. This comment is ridiculously subjective.

I don't think this guy actually owns two Tundras and, if he does, he doesn't know where the payload sticker is on them.

Right? My Tacoma had more payload than my Tundra does. True story.

We are all entitled to our own opinions, but not to our own facts.
