Ive never filled up more than 20-24 gallons either and usually fill up with 80-100 miles to E so Im not sure if it has some sort of reserve or not. I had a 2019 Camry that the distance to E would fluctuate based on the driving and average MPG so sometimes the needle and distance to E would differ tremendously....So maybe its just a calculation thing based on driving style?

I did notice that the other day my distance to E had went from my usually 400 something back to 600 miles to E but I had 80 miles on the tank. My driveway isnt steep at all and the number went back to my normal after driving through that tank of gas. Maybe there is a software issue or something? Ive tried reading through the thread and didnt notice anyone else with a bug similar to mine....has anyone else experienced this?

The only thing the dealer did was disconnect the battery. The issue will return. I'm amazed there hasn't been an official recall or software update yet regarding the issue

Also have the issue. Waiting for the fourth recall, or second TSB, to take it in to get all recall/tsb issues resolved, plus the squeaky centre arm rest.
Maybe if we wait long enough, we can hit a half-dozen recalls!

Its definitely something to do with the head unit/software in the truck. I never had the issue until they replaced the radio/head unit, then it happened at least 50% of my fill ups, always around 3/4 tank. When they replaced that radio/head unit, the issue went away and hasnt been back since.
