Sleep schedule is fixed....for now.... lol. Oh boy, asking me about a vehicle again?! Incoming novel!
First I'll post pictures of the turd and then the novel will follow.

Okay, it all starts out when I happen to see the passport sitting at my local Honda dealership. I decided I wanted to test drive it. I didn't have any specific plans on immediately trading my Tacoma but I was entertaining the idea. Well, the test drive impressed me quite a bit. It was properly quick and handled great for being an SUV. So to the dismay of those around me I decided I wanted one, but not the colors at the dealership so they brought me a blue one from like 3 hours away at a sister dealership. I was pretty excited because it was going to be my first brand new vehicle. Then it went downhill quickly. First and foremost the test drive didn't have enough bumps on it. The actual suspension took bumps fine but it was so boomy and loud whenever the roads were rough. Like it made you think it rode worse than it did. If you plugged your ears then you would realize it wasn't so bad lol. Next, I got an absolute steal on those aftermarket wheels. I switched over the tires and mounted them up. Boom, steering wheel shakes. Okay, I figured the tire shop mounted and balanced incorrectly. Take it to a place that rode force balances. Confident it's fixed, jump on the highway, no change. Now I think it must be something wrong with the wheels or the tires. Bring it back to the shop and they said two of the tires were marginal but should've been fine. They replace the two marginal tires. Jump on the highway thinking now for sure it's fixed. Nope. While dealing with this I happen to have ordered a device that disables the cylinder deactivation. The steering wheel wobble went away. WTF?! Me and my dad came to the conclusion that it was so off balance when only three cylinders were firing that it was causing the entire transaxle to move. Okay, that's one big ass strike but at least we found a solution. Strike two: in about a foot, maybe a little more of snow, I was testing the different drive modes in a parking lot to see which one felt better and how it behaved. I tried two modes and as I made my third circle with the third mode I got the message "AWD system overheating, pull over when safe" what a bunch of garbage that it couldn't even make three circles around a parking lot before overheating. Strike three and the final straw: the engine was getting very loud. I'm assuming it was injectors but whatever it was sounded like a 5 gallon bucket full of crickets on meth. When it finally clicked for me that I had enough of this vehicle I was sitting in a Drive-Thru and the sound was echoing so loudly off the building that people were staring. Also strike four because this thing really was a turd: I had the towing package installed. That included a transmission cooler. Either because of cavitation in the lines that were too soft or them not topping it off with fluid (I didn't care to troubleshoot as I already was done with the vehicle and other people had the same issue on the forums) it would sound and feel like rumble strips when shifting from third to fourth. In conclusion. It was deceptively fast, handled great, had armrests in front (although the front seats actually weren't that comfortable the armrests were awesome), and the back seats were comfortable (largely because they reclined), and that is literally all it had going for it. Yuck.

YAY! Tyler's here! Of course I wanna know about the other vehicles. I car shop for fun, even if I have no intention of buying anything.

Good to know. I thought about one as a secondary commuter before realizing I don't want to pay for two vehicles. Did you move from the Passport to the Tundra, or is there another story in there? :)

If it were nothing but nights, sure. I've been doing this schedule since 2018, though. No ill effects beyond the first day after the night hitch being a bit of a wasted day.

I remain disgruntled for each month that I am on nights. They have some benefits but the negatives far outweigh the positives. I am both blessed that I am able to change my sleep schedule very quickly but also cursed in the fact that I don't handle little sleep very well. I need at least 7 hours man!

Give it time. Sleep deprivation will become the norm and you'll learn to function. It's like being a functioning alcoholic.

Lol noooooooo. Do you have a built-in alarm clock? I would say a good 90 or even 95% of the time I wake up before my alarm goes off. Even if I set it for times that aren't my usual wake up time like that day I went to the meetup I set my alarm for 3:15 and woke up at 3:10.

I must confess for some reason there are some days now and again that I will wake up six or seven times before actually needing to be awake. Not a fan.

Yup. That's called getting older. You think grandma and grandpa went to bet at 7 PM for fun? Nope. Was the only way to get enough sleep over the course of the next 12 hours with all the waking up and stuff.

I know I've said it before but man do I make a lot of plans about 8 hours into a 12-hour shift and by the time I get to the end of the shift I don't feel like doing a damn thing anymore.

I’ve been scrolling very fast. @LarryDangerfield appears to be having a conversation with the voices in his head, cuz I’m not seeing anything/anyone else in this thread.
