It’s rare in the sense that it is a private selection. Meaning someone, usually a liquor or grocery store, hand selected the barrel and received all 150-200 bottles that one barrel made. Those barrels are usually 10-12 years old for ECBP (other name brands as they all do it vary in age). This is done quit often so not technically rare, but of that specific taste/proof/profile/etc there are only 150-200 available. I love private pics because of that. Some can be very unique in taste. Enjoy it…..:drunk:

So... Jameson has not been my normal beverage of choice for a while. However, we celebrated my Father In-Laws Birthday yesterday evening, and apparently my wife had a wild hair for Jameson. I then felt the need to break out the "authentic" pewter Irish shot glasses.

After trying to pour into these little things and then taking a drink from one, I have to say, I can't imagine any of the Irish folks I know ever using one of these tiny things!!!! Oh well, I was a fun evening...

I have always enjoyed Jameson but I never had it in the house, however the last few years I have kept a bottle on the shelf. So maybe it's the Irish in the bottle fighting with the Irish in me, I find that even though it's only 80 proof it can make me wee bit wilder than bourbon. :D

I'm headed down through Louisville to Nashville tomorrow. Thinking of stopping at a distillery along the way. I've been to Willet and enjoyed that. Further to the east, I loved Wilderness Trail. Any recommendations on a distillery to stop at?

We had actually planned a trip to visit serval distilleries over a two week nice long trip then frocking Covid hit and everything shut down. Need to reschedule it soon as I always wanted to make that trip. Have fun and enjoy it. Everyone i know that have been said it’s one of the best trips they ever took. Probably doesn’t hurt your tasting liquor all day/week……

When you go, definitely go to Wilderness Trail. That was my favorite when we hit a bunch in 2020.

Ended up going to Peerless in downtown Louisville. Enjoyed the single barrel they have out right now very much.

Picked up a new Double Oaked today and went to put it on the shelf but forgot I had some UCUF left so I opted to work on that tonight. I would put that right up there against many other bourbons.

I got two more bottles of eagle rare today. I missed the last bottle of Russell’s Reserve 13 by a few minutes. I’ve been on the search for that one for a while now.

Lots of great bottles will be hitting the shelves in the next few months.

I swear I go to the ‘good’ whiskey state stores all the time and never find anything good. Been lookin for a decent priced EC toasted barrel for a while now. I need to move to Texas! Lol

    I finally found a Russel’s 13! I’ve heard it’s amazing. I’m looking forward to opening this one!
