2014-2021 Front/Rear Anytime Camera Mod - FRAC Harness

Well, thanks for the compliment. I do enjoy designing mods!

I'm no expert on what voids a warranty so you'll have to make that determination, but this is no different than adding a light-bar or other aftermarket non-intrusive item. It is plug and play and no factory wires are cut or spliced.

I'll go ahead and add you to the list and then when it comes time to make an order, you can make your final decision.

 

Here is the deal with the warranty, if you make the mod, and your transmission goes out. Two different related items. Not close. It's plug and play. So if you should (not likely) have an issue with your radio. Unplug it and make it stock. You cannot be denied warranty for a mod that has nothing to do with the mod. Aka cold air intake , exhaust and so on.

 

Discovered another nice use for FRAC today; Blind Spot viewing.

I am about to pass the car in the right lane...


I've passed the car and cannot see it in my side mirror. The dreaded blind spot!...


But it is clearly visible in the Rear Cam field of View...


Unintended benefit of the FRAC mod!

 

I noticed that too it's good for blind spot.

 

You guys just font gave your mirrors out enough.

I'd pay good money for auto up/down for all windows.

I was just going to post about keeping the rear camera on in traffic. I have the original BSM( convex BS mirrors) in combo with the camera looking out back is fantastic!

I have a switch pros controller; is it possible to ditch the switches and just wire it to the switch pros?

 

I know you can use a switch-pros 8100. You'll use two of your switches, one for front cam and one for reverse cam, programmed as ignition enabled. It will interface with the FRACv2 cam select switch harness. I'll be providing the connection instructions for the 8100 in the FRACv2 installation guide. I need to research the 8100 a little more to verify it will work with the VIM function, but it would take a third switch position.

 

I took a look at the Switch-pros data. You can use it for the VIM function but you'll need to use a simple relay. I can provide that wiring information as well.

Maybe I'll create a relay kit to make it easier for folks with the 8100.

 

Thanks. Worst case for the VIM I can use the standard switch for that.

 

I'm glad I stumbled on this. I was looking at buying the Beat Sonic poece for the front camera. That costs more and does less.

Please keep us posted on the adaptor for 2nd gen trucks. I've got a 2013 and I'd snatch one of these up in a heartbeat! It looks awesome!
