I can buy an 80k truck on impulse but I’m having a hard time buying a $40 key fob cover :anonymous:

Look at it this way, it’s only $40 and you can take turns using the stock key fob and the AJT one (you should have 2 stock ones). That way you have one of each…..:notsure:

Where in Dallas did you get the lift installed if you don't mind me asking? How much did the dealership charge for the install? TIA

Actually, I did the install with a little tilting and twisting... Didn't remove any strap or bumper panel... I also mounted the bottom bolt up from the bottom, not down through the bracket that goes inside the hitch square tube. That's is a key difference.

Took bold out, insert step, snugged everything then started tightening down with this bolt here first.

Installed the Burger Motorsports BOV. Had it on for 24 hours before I removed them. I did install them with zero out of the 4 set screws to get the full BOV effect. BMS recommends installing 2 set screws and adjusting. To get an OEM feel they say install all 4 set screws, or run zero set screws to get the loudest BOV sound. But with zero set screws the truck just drove terrible so I ended up removing them completely. On the first test drive the truck stalled with any sudden braking and I got the error message below. Stalled 3 times on the first test drive with hard braking. The truck would also stall when acceleration uphill with steady stop and go acceleration. With regular driving the truck drove fine, but was still slightly jerky. The BOV wssshhh sound was also very faint even with zero set screws. I confirmed I installed it properly and triple checked my intake hoses were not loose. In summary I'm not a fan and would not recommend. The faint BOV sound was not worth the safety concern.

I had a similar experience with the prototypes. Truck stalled maybe once or twice in 1,000 miles. No jerkyness at WOT but did had a very noticeable upshift when I'd let off. I ended up taking off one of the plates and running one side with it and one without...problem solved but woosh sound was greatly reduced.

I think installing 2 or even 4 set screws may not cause driving issues. The BOV sound just won't be as noticeable is all.

Pretty much. May throw them on Facebook marketplace for the first 50 bucks.. but yea it was a $200 gamble. Having the engine stall multiple times in traffic was a nogo for me. I admit I was abruptly braking and accelerating to really test out any drive issues.. but still too unsafe for me and not worth it.

That almost sounds like the problems fixed by the recall out there, have you looked into that?

Yup. Had that recall taken care of a month back. Never had any drive issues or engine stalling until after the BOV install. Could be a coincidence. However I drive up the same hill everyday after work and engine never stalled. But after the BOV it died multiple times. Almost as if it was having a hard time regulating air at slow speeds. My intake hoses were tight and secured so it's most likely the BOV addition.

I had this recall done while testing the plates and it helped but didn't get rid of the off throttle surge

How do you like it so far? Is the price worth it compared to the rough country or wescott designs lifts?
