What's everyone think just finished putting this on took 3.5 hours and is a real nice quality piece real leather, really strong thread and fits the wheel perfect ! Couple little imperfections as I never did this before but over all I'm happy with it it beats buying a new wheel

    Pretty things
Looks great! Kudos for removing the airbag and trim.

I installed one if these last year and have been loving it. I will say the I HAVE knicked the leather a bit in one spot and I can feel it from time to time. But I didn't use any adheasive or tape for this very reason. Wanted it to be easily replaceable, for when I did damage the thing.

Honestly I could probably just repair the damn thing with leather adheasive and get a lot more life out of it.

    Enjoy your new upgrade!

Thanks guys it was alot to do but man it really beefed up the steering wheel and made it really thick I like it a lot I'm not overly impressed with some of my work in the all the areas but hey 59 bucks and it's real leather I guess I can't complain

Thanks and yes if I had to do it again I to will not use the adhesive tape they provide because then I can't move the leather around the way I want but hey it's a learning experience right

Well just put your patience pants on lol I mean honestly it's more like paying attention and doing the same thing over and over and over again and gets a little tricky around some of the turns and bends I literally felt like a contortionist the way I had to bend my body to stitch underneath now I don't no if you ever seen a 280 pound contortionist but I am now one of them !

    Looks great OP!

That was one of the first mods I did to my truck almost 5 years ago. The red thread at the 6 o'clock position has faded a bit but it still looks, and feels, great. Well worth the effort.

    You're gonna love it.

Yeah for how awesome these trucks are and all the leather that is already there and they throw in a wheel that resembles a wheel off of a riding mower is ridiculous

Just did mine the other day and have a noise when turning the wheel. Anyone have that happen? Sounds like a wire scraping intermittently.

I did. It could be the wheel since it is a replacement. Sounds like there may be a rough spot on the back of the replacement.

    Too many, but not enough....
For those of us with more money than sense or time, the tacoma leather wrapped steering wheel is a perfect match and fit. Ebay and 200 bucks FTW.

Great job OP from here it looks factory.

Love the Tacoma wheel, but hear the splines are slightly different and do not line up correctly for a straight wheel. Is this correct? Doing an alignment just for this is a no go for me.

It makes it easier if you take the steering wheel off and you can do it while sitting on the couch watching TV. Its still a tedious job, but I couldn't imagine doing it in the truck. Your work looks great!

Thanks I appreciate it and I was contemplating taking the wheel off I can see how certain angles would def be easier to get at as opposed to leaving it on !
