Headlights pointed too high after baking/opening

So….. I just finished baking/taking apart my headlights and painting the housing black.

I put it back together and placed them back on and noticed the headlight beam is now pointed so high.

I tried adjusting using the headlight adjuster in the cabin but didnt work. I may have left the half of the headlight adjustment rotor in while baking….


How f***** am I? Is there still hope I can use the manual adjusted behind the headlight housing to get the beams pointed down? Anyone run into this issue and fix it?

Time to get some OEM leds.

 

Yes, you should to still be able to manually adjust them.

 

You can purchase just the adjuster.

Also, and no offense, but LOL.

 

Manually adjust them with the adjusters on the back of the housings. If you didn't melt or brake anything, a #2 phillips will get you going.

Ha! I had an extra set that I did, cause I did a set way back and sold those, and the set I did i threw them away

 

I could check, but I believe I have 2 OEM adjusters at home, maybe 4. I have done retro fits in the past and the adjusters are left out. Either way how hot did you get them? I don’t see why the adjuster motor would stop working.

 

I tried looking up the adjuster, where do you buy it? Idk, what even the exact part/part# is called. And indeed, LOL

 

240 for 20mins. I just followed the Lightwerkz video on YouTube.

You 100% should confirm this before just buying these.

when I first turned on the headlights I heard the driver side light make a humming noise and then stop.

Ill check later if I hear the headlight motors hum when I adjust using the cabin headlight adjuster

 

Adjust them back down manually with a socket. Did you bake the lights with the motors still attached?

I saw he had half of the rotor on when he baked it. It was the half closest to the headlights which were the gears. The electronic half was disconnected and left with the truck before I baked.
