Damn - sorry to see this - but as said, at least your here posting. They made plenty and cars are replaceable- at least if your willing to pay a 10k “market adjustment”.

Salvage value - guestimate 15-18k - someone WiILL rebuild this and put it to use in some foreign country (likely Middle East) without airbags and all that fancy costly tech. They LOVE Tundras over there - bigger size, legends reliability and relatively easy to obtain parts at a reasonable price.

i think after a car is totaled, they will issue you a check of the car value. The buyback is $1000-$1500 if I’m not mistaken.

The amount to retain the salvage will vary upon vehicle, damage, market, etc. The salvage value of that Tundra is way more than a couple grand.

Sorry for the late post...I work a lot, and odd hours. I had a guy/girl pull out in front of me while passing a 18 wheeler that was turning on a two line highway. I didn't hit the guy/girl that pulled out in front of me, but hit the flatbed corner of the trailer. I was going about 65, hit the brakes hard...I was doing about 40 on impact. I know I have always said "I'd just hit the dumbass that pulled out in front of me" Yeah...it's easier said than done. Of coarse the pick up that pulled out in front of me didn't stop, the guy driving the 18 wheeler didn't even know I hit him. Fortunately the company the 18 wheeler was pulling into had cameras. Got it on camera of the guy/girl that pulled out in front of me, and insurance said it wasn't my fault. 100% not my fault.

Believe it or not...When you have a frontend collision it scrabbles the computer, so you can't start it. So the new 11k computer is what pushed it over. The body shop said it couldn't be reset like most. They didn't know why.
