    Welcome to Talons Garage!

We are happy to be vendors here on Tundras.com. Many of you already know us and have bought our products over the last year. For those who do not, this is a little about ourselves.

We are a husband wife team that started this journey about a year ago in our 2.5 car garage. I had a home-built CNC plasma and started making plates. We have grown a ton over the last year and have heavily invested in our future with newer and better machines!

Right now, we sell Cat protection plates, and off-road skid plates. We have a transmission and transfer case plate for the newer 4x4 1st gens. A full setup for the 2nd gens and are working at getting a full line up for the 2022 regular and hybrid versions. Are you a local Houstonian? Shoot me a message about setting up a test fit for one of our new products! Not only do we have products for the Tundra, but we also sell plates for the 4 Runner, Tacoma, Lexus 460, F-150 and F250.

Check out our full line up here!

    Thank you!

    Thanks!!

It is something planned. I need to get a 2.5 gen tundra, and a 2022 Tundra so I can scan them. We released something around 20 products over the last year. We have around 20 more products that are in various stages of design. I also have a list of 4-5 more trucks I need to tackle soon!

Nothing now, but if Tundra's wanted to do a giveaway contest I might be able to assist!

didn't realize y'all left and came back. i haven't been in the "catalytic converter theft" convos for a bit, so maybe thats why i was oblivious.
i'm still happy with my purchase and feel relieved not having to worry about them being hacked off so easily. thanks again y'all. keep up the good work!

I agree. I need to get my first gas tank skid done first, which will likely be on my (truck less superior then a Tundra :p). Once I kind of get an idea of how I want to do it, the next ones come pretty easy.

I need to get a local 2nd gen Tundra owner to come by my shop so I can scan his truck. I generally give away a 1/2 off cat plate to those who take the time out of their day to let me scan their truck.

I have your cat plates and really like them, especially the 1/4 inch aluminum which is quite beefy. Is there a skid plate that supports a diff drop in the works?

I really need to get a diff drop truck here and 3d Scan it. I would like to work on something that will fit both, but also not drop another inch of ground clearance on the non diff drop guys. I know I can do it, I am just not sure how I want to do it yet. This is going to be one of those things I might need the truck a day or two, or the person will need to come back a couple times to test fit stuff up. I generally tell someone a test fit and scanning session takes 3-4 hours. The gentleman that came with morning with a 2022 showed up at 645, and he just left 10 minuets ago. I removed his cat plate, scanned his truck, reinstalled the cat plate and installed the front plate. I tried to install the transfer case plate. There is a small difference on that but I now have all the data I need to where the next go around will be quick, and worse case he might have to come one time after that.

I have experimented with some spacers for our plate that would work with a diff drop, and sent them out to one guy. He was pretty happy with them but its something I want to play with in person more before I open it up for sale.

I'd be 100% in for an aluminum gas tank for the 2.5 gen 38 gallon tank.

Being completely honest, It probably would not happen till next year. Right now I am working on a few other things that I really want to get done. They are all in various stages of completeness, but the main things are....

2022 Tundra regular and Hybrid stuff - I am going to make another post about this later on.

4 Runner Tacoma and 460 - Transfer case skid - I need to get this going. I have a few prototypes made that I am hoping to DESTROY later on to see which design I like more. I like doing destructive testing :p.

2022 Bronco - I have the first full set done. I need to do some minor changes and get that rolling. I also need to figure out the 4 door vs 2 door and I4 and V6 differences. I am pretty sure I already know, but it would be nice to lay hands on a truck.

It has been a fun year. I counted earlier and we released ~21 new products this year, with a majority of those being fairly recent now we have a 3d scanner. That baby is a game changer from the days of laying in a drive way with a tape measure. I am hoping to finish the list above before December, but it is going to be a little rough!

@Talonsgarage if you're going to make tank skids and want to stand out from the current offerings, make one that can support the weight of the truck on its belly.

Many of the guys I know who run a tank skid have deleted it, gone back to the stock plastic TRD one because it slides better, or given up on being able to skid on the tank at all. The current offerings are just glorified puncture protection, and at worse are dangerous levers under the truck when they come lose or fail. I know of at least one friend who ditched his on the side of the trail after a failure and gave someone the coordinates to pick it up later.

All the designs I know of just suspend the skid from above in order to hold it up under the tank. A solid design would actually function as a structural skid.

I have no idea how to actualize this idea, but it's what we need for serious off road. Best of luck!

I would really need to look at a Tundra, but these are all considerations I am keeping in mind, and things I have noticed as well. Something I am really looking to experiment is Aluminum skids with UHMW plastic.

We have put our 2022 Tundra engine plates in stock as I finally feel comfortable sending them out after test fitting a few.

Here is a small batch next to one of our F-150 plates getting ready to be bent at the press brake.

Any plans to offer steel plates, or are the 1/4" aluminum best option?

We are rolling out 10 gauge steel with a powder coating option. 10 gauge is a tad thicker then 1/8”.

Right now we are only doing 2022’s as we figure out the process and packing and shipping.

once we get it all done, we plan to offer most of our products in steel along with aluminum. 2nd gen Tundras are on that list.
