Most of my mods are used off of here, CL, FB Marketplace, or ebay and I did 100% of labor myself. I love a good deal.

Mods include Pro Grill, 18+ headlights, DD SS3 fogs, Baja Designs XL Pro ditch lights, Baja Designs S8 30+ bar, Coastal Offroad Bumper, Engo Winch w/ Factor 55 fairlead, TRD Pro skid plate, TRD OR wheels, 34" Falken Wildpeaks, Spidertrax spacers, Wheelers bumpstops, Rotopax and mount, traction boards, FRAC harness, OME suspension front and rear, Victory Bed Rack, Smittybilt Overlander XL Gen 2 RTT, ARB Awning. Also have small stuff like center console organizer, decals, Husky Floormats etc.

Last I calculated i'm at around $7.5k. Not bad at all imo for a turnkey overland rig. Only additional mods i'd really like is to revamp the rear suspension with new leafs, build some sliders, cat shields, and a rear bumper.

Not counting tires or fluids and other maintenance stuff, I'm safely at 16k....if I were to finish the last few nice to have mods I'd be at about 18k. My wife would rip my nuts off if she knew lolol

I’m genuinely curious how do you guys are able to pull off spending tons of money without your wife knowing about it.

my wife and I share everything so we both know what’s going on at all times.

I just told her I needed, cause my truck is a work truck. I get what ever I want...even the FOX 2.0 coil overs...lol. she did ask why I need new shocks when her car have more miles, I just told her straight up cause you have a Lexus, they come with better suspension and I carry heavy load all the time.

I make pretty decent money and she always has what she wants and I never tell her no so she doesn't ask questions. She's pretty frugal too and it doesn't take much to make her happy so it leaves me with a spending buffer. We save alot in other ways like not eating out, buying in bulk, I do all home repairs and maintenance, low fuel since i bike to work and utility bills low since we have solar and besides AC, appliances are all gas.

Toyota enthusiasts are some of the most modding MF's I have seen. I once thought Diesel sites were bad. Shit...they don't even hold a candle to this site and TW.

With everything between lift setup and overlanding Equupment I’m at roughly $12k… the wife knows about it and I just say it’s to help create memories and start traditions.

Each kid on their birthday month picks the weekend place they want to spend the weekend camping with just me. To have that father son or my daughter time together. Now they are more excited about planning their next years camping trip with just me. PRICELESS

This is gonna make me sad. Roughly 16k(4k for the truck, almost 12 Gs in mods). I got some pretty good deals on most of the crap I bought for it, and its pretty fast.

    This.

And I'm not even counting actual camping gear since I would need that regardless of the vehicle. My kids love offroading and camping and they are only 4 and 3. The video of my daughters happy dance next to our campfire was worth more than the mods to get us to that campsite already.

Being open is a good thing. I don't get the guys hiding stuff from their wives. My wife pushes me to mod my truck, she loves it. My wallet doesn't lol. But I'm also happy with her spending on shoes, purses, or vacations. We both recognize where we get material happiness from and encourage it within reason.

Word! My wife keeps telling me I should buy another motorcycle and go on another trip haha. We don’t hide a thing from each other. Good times! :)

She just passed her board exams so I’m sending her on a solo trip to visit her sister and have surprise concert tickets waiting for her when she gets back.

Then we get back into the frugal grind until the next worth it winner experience comes up for us! She’d rather see the world and visit family than have purses and shoes. Marry right, single dudes! Life can be heaven or hell on earth :)

No real mods yet, but I'm at $3900 on maintenance and replacing broken or worn out stuff. Unfortunately I was hoping to be closer to $2500 for that stuff, but oh well.

Mines 100% the same way. She’s all about experiences. Hence why I got her a trip to Norway in January. This just happens to be while I’m on my bk2baja trip lol weird how that worked out haha
