What does your coolant level look like?

I regretfully have not been checking the coolant level and just happened to notice while filling my washer fluid that it was actually below the low mark while the engine was completely cold and maybe 60° out. After letting it warm up and driving around it came up a bit above the low line. No evidence of a leak anywhere but will investigate more when I do my next oil change and see if I can see anything under the water pump. Truck a 2019 with 35,000 miles. Is a possible that is could be evaporative loss? Going to add some and monitor.

Mine fluctuates a fair amount too. I don't think I'd be too worried. The overflow container is not sealed so you will lose a bit from evaporation.

I’ve never had mine get that low, but since the truck was new I’ve had to add some a few times. But then in the last few years I have not had to top it off again. Really strange but my oil looks good, my exhaust doesn’t smoke so I’m going with it. I recently did a coolant change and it looked really good as well. I did have to top it off after a week, but it has stayed steady since then as well. I’m at 44,xxx miles.

I just had my water pump replaced and I marked the correct level on the coolant overflow tank and you are low, I have a 2013 with about 78.000 miles. Our coolant systems are a closed system and there should be no evaporative loss. fill it and check it once and a while. If you add water make sure it is distalled water.

When my 124 was new I marked the overflow tank level with a sharpie. Maybe 10,000 miles later it's all of a sudden 1/2" low. I added a few oz to bring it back to the sharpie mark. 28,000 miles later it's still at the sharpie mark at similar outside temps.

Musta just had to belch once.

Mine fluctuates a lot as well. It was brought to my attention it was empty during an oil change. Turns out my water pump was leaking.
Had it replaced 14 days before it was out of warranty.

When you changed your coolant did you just drain the radiator or did you open the drains on the engine as well?

Just noticed the same thing on mine over the weekend. Also a 19 with just a tick under 40,000 miles. Never checked it until this past weekend and mine was as low as yours. I did some searching on here and others have mentioned the same thing. I just got some premix at parts store and added a couple ounces and will keep my eye on the level.

I changed my oil the other day and noticed the exact same thing, about the same line as yours. 2020 with 20K miles. I don't see any leaks so not too worried about it. Did pick some up at my local dealer though to add.
