Yeah there's no oriented part of it so you can rotate it (the actual lens is movable in the housing too). The main reason I wanted it was to see where the bumper is though to tell how close I am to stuff. It will definitely function in that placement, but not being able to see down vertically at the bumper and corners would make it harder to gauge actual distance.

For the record, no cheese on said ham sandwich. And even without the documented truth, I stand by my claim all listed was present!

I was thinking to do my rear diff at 20k but thinking also prolly unnecessary and I should wait to 30k and do tranny, both diffs and check TC.

I had installed a LED rear third light previously so getting in there the second time was much easier. I wired the wires around the edges (drivers side) so the roof did not have to drop. It sealed up nicely, it has been about 8 months and it has not leaked

I had the Toyota shop do trans + front and rear diff and xfer case at 20k miles, against the advice of the service advisor, who said it was unnecessary. Up till that time I'd only put the truck in 4hi for 60 miles or so, and 4lo once for maybe 250 feet (more just to have done it than what I was doing at the time). After they were done the advisor's words were 'all the fluids looked like 5h!+' and he was glad I insisted.

I'll have it done again at 40k too.

A certain magical skidplate and a certain scientific drain plug. Still have the engine skids to install but that will wait until later when my muscles work again. I wondered if I should have opted for 3/16 plates but after hoisting those into place... nope.

A floor jack helps a lot. Some say use a rag or towel to prevent scratches but I'm guessing they have skids just for looks.

I had a nice break in the it-never-rains-in-September rain. Was able to install the VLEDS No-RF cargo lights that I got from a member here. I had read that you should be watchful of dropping the lens between the bed and the cab. Good there. Instead I dropped one of the screws. Luckily, it fell through to the driveway. Put everything back together and tried them. One of the lights did not work. Took it apart, tried flipping the non-working bulb, and tested them before I put the lens back on. They both worked. Buttoned everything back up, tested again, and walked back into the house just as the rain started again. The VLEDS replaced generic LEDs that the previous owner had installed. Nice to have LED cargo lights that don't interfere with the remote.

Ahh. Thought you hoisted it up by hand. I agree though even with it, it's still tiring

Especially in the neck. Ouch!. My head feels like a bowling ball with just a little push of the go pedal.

Hmm I've definitely had more than 60 miles in 4x4. I'll inspect the fluids before commiting.
