Hey anybody out there having trouble with the rock warrior wheels sticking to the rear rotors, I’ve had one of my rear wheels off a couple of times trying to stop the dust shield scraping the rotor and every time I’ve had to pry the wheel loose from the rotor. I guess the wheel is aluminum, I even put a little dab of grease on the contact points and still had to use a crowbar to get the wheel off. I’ve just decided to carry a crowbar under the rear seat all the time in case I ever have a flat and was wondering if any other 2013 rock warriors out there are experiencing the same problem and if they’ve found a solution. Love the truck. Thanks in advance

You can always loosen the lugs to that wheel first and roll forward and roll backward a couple of feet. Easier that a pry bar

Thanks, I tried that, even spun the tire a little bit. I bought one of those tire steps to make it easier to reach into the bed and jumped and down on it. It was stuck fast till I used the crowbar. Might try painting the back of the wheel next time I have it off.

Hit the contact area of the wheels with a brass wire wheel to clean it. The aluminum of these wheels corrodes with the steel and likely sticking due to that. It embeds itself into the wheel as you can see below after alot of cleaning. I sanded mine down and painted with primer which seems to help.

I use a little anti-sieze on the mating surface between the rotor and the wheel. Be careful to keep it off the wheel stud threads and friction surface of the rotors.

    You just wait
Anti seize is a good idea. A big rubber mallet usually works well to free the wheel as well.

Thanks, I’ll the wire brushing paint on one wheel and the anti seize on the other rear wheel, not sure if the front ones do that or not. I tried a little grease on the contact points and it stuck after just being back on for one week. Best truck I’ve ever had other than the wheels sticking. came over from rusted out 2004 Chevy Silverado. Have a good one
